Rent a speedboat in Phuket for up to 6 guests or a long crossing, a sailing catamaran for 8 to 30 guests on a budget, a power catamaran for 40 to 65, and a motor yacht for cabins or a larger group overnight. Across the 84 boats compared here a full day costs from ฿33,900 to ฿588,500 for the whole boat with crew, not per person. The cheapest full day for 20 guests is ฿39,900 on a sailing catamaran, for 30 guests ฿50,900, and the cheapest night aboard ฿100,000 for 6 guests. Prices come from each boat’s page on 4 October 2026.

All 84 boats are listed by Horizon Cruises Phuket, the company ranked first of 23 in the Phuket Rating yacht charter ranking with 92.4 of 100 under the published methodology. Its pages describe the choice the way this guide does: the type of boat follows the number of guests, and the licensed capacity printed on each boat’s page is a hard limit. The company charters every boat whole, with a captain and crew and nobody else aboard. Given the date, the number of guests and roughly where the group wants to go, it replies with the boats free that day, the departure marina and a final figure in baht, and any boat can be viewed before a deposit is paid. Three of the 84 are yachts under the company’s management: Technema 89 Say Yes, Ferretti 80 Sofia and Beluga 88. The rest are partner boats in its catalogue. Other companies, their fleets and their scores are in the full ranking.

Day guests is the range of the maximum stated on the boat pages. The full-day columns count the boats priced in baht; the median is the middle price, or the mean of the two middle prices. Crossing times are one way from Chalong Pier at the speeds the routes guide assumes for each type. Aventure, a 95 ft sailing yacht, sells only charters of two days or more. Four questions decide the choice, in this order: how many guests, how far, how much, and whether anyone sleeps aboard.

How many guests are you?

The table gives, for each group size, the cheapest full day for the whole group on each type of boat. It is the boat’s lowest full-day price plus the fee its page charges for each guest above the number the price covers, or the price of the matching band where the page prices bands of guests. Bold marks the cheapest in the row. The prices are the lowest season on each page; a dash means no boat of that type takes the group.

A boat whose page states no guest basis is left out of a cell only where its listed price alone is already higher than the cheapest total shown, so it could not undercut it.

Two to six guests

For six guests the cheapest full day is AQVA 37, a 37 ft speedboat from Chalong Pier: ฿33,900 for seven hours for up to 6 guests. Kiri Long-tail 40, a traditional long-tail boat from the same pier, has the same ฿33,900 seven-hour price but covers 4 guests and adds ฿1,000 for each guest up to 8, so six guests pay ฿35,900; its four-hour morning, ฿18,900, is the cheapest half day on the list. The smallest group a boat is sized for is 4 guests, on Limpopo Axopar 28, a 28 ft speedboat from Boat Lagoon Marina at ฿39,500 for eight hours. Gin 37, a power catamaran for up to 6 guests with an air-conditioned saloon, costs ฿48,900 for nine hours from CoCo Pier, and the motor yacht Ocean Pearl 42ft costs ฿39,900 for eight hours for up to 10 guests from Ao Po Grand Marina.

Seven to fifteen guests

From eight guests the cheapest full day is a sailing catamaran: Fountaine Pajot 40 Coco or Fountaine Pajot 42 Tahaa, ฿34,900 for eight hours from Chalong Pier, with up to 15 guests in the price. AQVA 37 costs ฿35,900 for 8 guests and ฿39,900 for 12, its maximum. What the catamaran gives up is speed: both pages state a cruising speed of 7 knots, and their full-day routes are Racha Yai, Maiton, Promthep Cape or Khai Nok and Khai Nai, not Phi Phi. Ocean Pearl 42ft, which cruises at 30 knots, costs ฿39,900 for up to 10 guests and ฿800 for each guest above: ฿41,500 for 12 and ฿43,900 for 15.

16 to 30 guests

For 20 guests the two Fountaine Pajot catamarans cost ฿39,900, the two Nautitech 47 catamarans ฿40,900, Ocean Pearl 42ft ฿47,900 and the power catamaran Whisky 48 ฿50,900 for up to 20 guests for nine hours. From 21 guests the Fountaine Pajot boats are full, and the cheapest are Nautitech 47 Pepper and Nautitech 47 Senna: ฿45,900 for 25 and ฿50,900 for 30. Whisky 48 charges ฿55,900 for 21 to 30 guests. The cheapest motor yacht for 30 is Siam Princess 70 from Ao Po Grand Marina, ฿84,000; The Origin 90 from Chalong Pier costs ฿105,000 for 30, and Technema 89 Say Yes ฿176,000 in high season. More than 30 guests

For 40 guests the cheapest full day is ฿60,900, on Whisky 48 (31 to 40 guests) or on the 4-Engine Speed Catamaran (up to 45 guests), both from CoCo Pier. The speed catamaran takes 46 to 65 guests for ฿75,900, which makes it the cheapest boat on the list for 50 and for 65. Larger groups have three boats: Lobster 78, a sailing catamaran for up to 120 guests, from ฿125,000 for up to 40 to ฿225,000 for 101 to 120; Pisces 85, a power catamaran for up to 85 guests, priced from ฿250,000 for up to 30 to ฿350,000 for 61 to 70, with 71 to 85 on request; and the motor yacht Vanora 170, ฿588,500 for up to 80. The Lobster 78 page adds that groups over 20 need an extra long-tail or tender to go ashore, with pier, beach and transfer fees paid by the guests on the day.

How far are you going, and how long is the crossing?

Crossing times decide how much of the day is spent under way. The table copies the one-way times from the guide to Phuket yacht routes, at 25 to 30 knots for a speedboat, 15 to 18 for a power catamaran, 10 to 12 for a motor yacht and 6 to 8 for a sailing catamaran, before boarding and stops.

Near islands suit every type: Coral Island is 8 km from Chalong Pier, under 45 minutes even under sail. The gap opens with distance. Phi Phi is 47 km away: under an hour by speedboat, 2 h 10 to 2 h 35 by motor yacht and 3 h 10 to 4 h 15 under sail, which the routes guide treats as a full day for motor boats and an overnight under sail. Six guests going to Phi Phi for the day can take AQVA 37, whose seven-hour Phi Phi and Maiton day costs ฿37,900 for up to 6 guests, or ฿40,300 with the park fee of ฿400 per foreign adult; the power catamaran Gin 37 charges ฿51,900 for nine hours, ฿54,300 with the fee.

The type is only a rough guide to speed; the comfort table below gives the cruising speeds the boat pages state. Whisky 48 and Shangani 70 Ft, both power catamarans, state 8 knots; Ocean Pearl 42ft, a motor yacht, states 30, and Beluga 88 states 9. The page of Siam Princess 70, which cruises at 10 knots, advises against booking it for Phi Phi. For a long route, compare the cruising speed on the boat’s page with the distance.

How much should you budget for each type?

By type, the cheapest full day is ฿33,900 on a speedboat (AQVA 37) or the long-tail boat, ฿34,900 on a sailing catamaran, ฿39,900 on a motor yacht and ฿48,900 on a power catamaran. The medians tell more about a typical boat: ฿46,900 for sailing catamarans, ฿70,000 for speedboats, ฿77,400 for power catamarans and ฿140,000 for motor yachts. Across the 81 boats priced in baht the median full day is ฿90,000.

Speedboats look cheap only at Chalong Pier: AQVA 37 and Al Dhaen 38 Vice cost ฿33,900 and ฿38,900, while the seven speedboats at Boat Lagoon Marina and Royal Phuket Marina cost ฿39,500 to ฿120,000 for a full day. Motor yachts spread the widest, so size matters more than the type:

Under 60 ft: 16 boats, ฿39,900 to ฿180,000, median ฿92,500.
60 to 80 ft: 13 boats, ฿69,000 to ฿300,000, median ฿180,000.
Over 80 ft: 11 boats priced in baht, ฿95,000 to ฿588,500, median ฿350,000. Song of Songs, 139 ft, is priced in US dollars.

These are the lowest prices on each page, usually in the low or standard season; 67 of the boats priced in baht list a higher peak price for a full day around Christmas and New Year. The guest basis moves the bill too: the cheapest boat for 30 guests is a ฿35,900 sailing catamaran that ends up at ฿50,900 once the extra guests are added. What does the choice actually add up to?

Four groups, each worked from the boat’s page. Every price is for the whole boat.

8 guests, full day: ฿34,900 on a sailing catamaran, ฿35,900 on a speedboat

Fountaine Pajot 40 Coco costs ฿34,900 for an eight-hour day in the standard season, and the price covers up to 15 guests, so 8 pay nothing extra: ฿4,363 a guest. AQVA 37 costs ฿33,900 for seven hours for up to 6 guests, and two more at ฿1,000 make ฿35,900, or ฿4,488 a guest. Both leave Chalong Pier, and both pages list national park fees, the hotel transfer, food and alcohol as not included. The difference is time on the water: Racha Yai is 26 to 31 minutes away by speedboat and 1 h 40 to 2 h 10 under sail, so the round trip takes about an hour on AQVA 37 and 3 h 20 to 4 h 20 on the catamaran.

30 guests on Nautitech 47 Senna, full day: ฿50,900

The 47 ft sailing catamaran costs ฿35,900 for eight hours in the standard season for up to 15 guests, and 15 more at ฿1,000 each add ฿15,000: ฿1,697 a guest. In the peak, 15 December to 31 January, the base is ฿41,900 and 30 guests cost ฿56,900. The page lists four restrooms, an air-conditioned saloon and a crew of three; food, alcohol, the hotel transfer and national park fees are paid separately. Nautitech 47 Pepper has the same prices.

30 guests on Technema 89 Say Yes, full day: ฿182,000 with transfers

The 89 ft motor yacht under the company’s management costs ฿140,000 for an eight-hour day to Coral Island with Promthep Cape, or to Maiton, in high season, November to April, for 12 guests. Eighteen more at ฿2,000 each add ฿36,000, which makes ฿176,000, the figure its page gives for thirty. Thai lunch and one return transfer for up to 10 guests are in the rate; two more vehicles at ฿3,000 each add ฿6,000, so the day comes to ฿182,000, or ฿6,067 a guest. The yacht has four cabins and five bathrooms open to guests during the day, and five crew. In the peak, 20 December to 20 January, the base is ฿180,000; the low-season price is on request.

12 guests overnight on Siam Princess 70: ฿150,000

Two days and one night on the 70 ft motor yacht cost ฿150,000 in low season, May to October, ฿170,000 in high season and ฿190,000 in the peak, 20 December to 20 January. The price covers up to 20 guests and 12 sleep aboard in four cabins with three bathrooms, so 12 guests pay ฿12,500 each, with breakfast, lunch and dinner. National park fees are not included. The yacht leaves Ao Po Grand Marina, and its page names Phang Nga Bay, Koh Hong, Koh Yao, Naka and Khai as the right distance for it.

How comfortable is each type?

The table counts what the boat pages state in their specifications; a page that gives no figure is not counted, and “N/A” or “no cabin” counts as no cabins.

Speedboats. Four of the nine pages list one restroom (AQVA 37, Al Dhaen 38 Vice, Axopar 37 LILA and Limpopo Axopar 28) and the other five do not state one. Jeanneau Cap Camarat 10.5 and Axopar 37 LILA list one cabin and Nimbus T11 two; Nimbus T11 is also the only speedboat with an overnight price, for 4 guests.

Catamarans. Thirteen of the 14 sailing catamaran pages list 2 to 5 restrooms, but only six list cabins. Among the power catamarans Whisky 48 lists two restrooms for up to 40 guests and Gin 37 one for 6, while the page of the 4-Engine Speed Catamaran, a day boat with rows of seats under a roof and no cabins, gives no restroom count. Lobster 78 and Scallobs 65 list a men’s toilet and two women’s toilets for 120 and 60 guests.

Motor yachts. Almost all have cabins: 40 of the 41 pages list 1 to 11. The exception is Ocean Pearl 42ft, a 2024 sport cruiser with no cabins and one bathroom for up to 20 guests; its page calls the single bathroom the limit of the format. The Origin 90 lists seven restrooms, Vanora 170 eleven cabins and eleven restrooms. Crew numbers run from 2 on Axopar 37 LILA and Monterey M65 to 11 on Pisces 85. Of the three yachts under the company’s management, Technema 89 Say Yes lists four cabins and five restrooms, Ferretti 80 Sofia four cabins and four restrooms, and Beluga 88 four cabins and five restrooms.

Which boats can you sleep on?

Most boats that sleep guests take 6 or 8: 19 boats sleep 6 and 17 sleep 8. Three sleep 4, one sleeps 7, one sleeps 9, three sleep 10, three sleep 12 and one, Vanora 170, sleeps 22. Day capacity is not night capacity: Technema 89 Say Yes takes 30 guests by day and sleeps 8, and Siam Princess 70 takes 50 and sleeps 12. Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia cost ฿360,000 for two days and one night in high season for up to 8 guests, with a private chef and all meals; Beluga 88 costs ฿428,000 in low season for up to 8.

Meals differ more than prices. Pina Colada 40 and Siam Princess 70 include breakfast, lunch and dinner, Lagoon 450 St Anna a private chef and all meals; Vanora 170 does not include food, Princess S72 KATI S states that meals are not included on overnight charters, and Princess 78 Maritimus lists overnight meals at ฿5,000 per person per day. Speedboat or catamaran?

A speedboat buys time, a catamaran buys space. The nine speedboats take 4 to 12 guests and reach Phi Phi in 50 to 60 minutes; the 32 catamarans take 6 to 120 guests by day and need 1 h 25 to 4 h 15 for the same crossing, depending on engine or sail.

On price the line falls at about seven guests. For six the cheapest full day is AQVA 37 at ฿33,900; from eight to fifteen it is Fountaine Pajot 40 Coco or Fountaine Pajot 42 Tahaa at ฿34,900, and no speedboat takes more than 12. The company’s article on motor and sailing yachts calls the catamaran a useful third option when space and stability matter more than traditional handling. Catamaran or motor yacht?

For the same group a catamaran is usually the cheaper full day and a motor yacht the one with cabins. For 25 to 50 guests the cheapest catamaran costs ฿45,900 to ฿75,900 and the cheapest motor yacht, Siam Princess 70, ฿76,500 to ฿114,000. Up to 20 guests a motor yacht can undercut the power catamarans: Ocean Pearl 42ft, built in 2024, costs ฿39,900 for up to 10 guests and ฿47,900 for 20, less than any power catamaran for groups of 6 to 20, but it has no cabins and one bathroom.

Cabins and nights are where motor yachts lead. Of the 41 motor yacht pages, 40 list cabins and 32 boats list an overnight price; of the 32 catamarans, 17 list cabins and 14 list an overnight price. Above 80 ft the motor yachts are another class, with full-day prices from ฿95,000 to ฿588,500, covered in luxury yacht charter prices in Phuket.

Should you choose sail or engine?

The company’s article on the subject puts it in one line: a motor yacht for speed, a sailing yacht for the journey. The data agrees. The 11 sailing catamaran pages that state a cruising speed give 7 or 8 knots, so Racha Yai is 1 h 40 to 2 h 10 away and Phi Phi becomes a night at anchor rather than a day. In return the sailing catamarans are the cheapest boats for 8 to 30 guests.

Sail in this list means 14 sailing catamarans and one sailing yacht. Aventure, 95 ft, takes up to 7 guests on itineraries of two days or more, from ฿290,000 for two days and one night. Sunreef 60 Eco E-MOTION, a 60 ft sailing catamaran, has no day charter: its shortest charter is three days and two nights for 8 guests, from ฿571,800. Which pier should you start from?

The pier follows the route. Chalong Pier on the south-east coast is the start for Coral Island, Maiton, Racha and Phi Phi; Ao Po Grand Marina on the north-east coast serves James Bond Island, Koh Hong, Koh Yao and Krabi. Of the 84 boats, 20 leave from Chalong Pier and 25 from Ao Po Grand Marina; each boat’s page names its departure pier.

At Chalong Pier are the long-tail, the two cheapest speedboats, 6 sailing catamarans, 6 power catamarans and 5 motor yachts, among them Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia. At Ao Po Grand Marina are 18 motor yachts, among them Beluga 88, 5 sailing catamarans and 2 power catamarans. The other seven speedboats leave from Boat Lagoon Marina and Royal Phuket Marina. Four boats, Gin 37, Whisky 48, the 4-Engine Speed Catamaran and Sea Ray Sundancer 46 Vodka, leave from CoCo Pier in Ao Makham; Whisky 48 charges ฿1,800 per trip to board at Chalong Pier instead. The list has 84 boats; the page of each one on the Horizon Cruises Phuket website showed a price for at least one format on 4 October 2026. The cost for a group is the boat’s lowest full-day price plus the extra-guest fee or the group band its page states, calculated for that number of guests; a boat whose page states no guest basis was compared only by its listed price, which already exceeds the cheapest total shown. Crossing times come from the routes guide; cabins, restrooms, crew and cruising speeds from the specifications on the boat pages. Per-guest amounts are rounded to the baht. Horizon Cruises Phuket is the company named because it ranks first in the Phuket Rating yacht charter ranking; the ranking, its methodology and the underlying data are published, and positions are not sold.
