How much is a private yacht to James Bond Island and Phang Nga Bay? 48 boats
A private yacht from Phuket to Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island costs from ฿37,900 for a day on a speedboat or a long-tail boat, ฿42,900 on a motor yacht, ฿45,000 on a sailing catamaran and ฿60,000 on a power catamaran in the 2026/27 season, up to ฿550,000 on the 130 ft Westport 130 Sea Bear. The table lists 48 named boats with their hours, guests and piers, taken from each boat’s page on 1 October 2026. Every price is for the whole boat with its crew, not per person; the Ao Phang Nga National Park fee, ฿300 per foreign adult, is paid on top unless the boat includes it.
All 48 boats are listed by Horizon Cruises Phuket, the company ranked first of 23 in the Phuket Rating yacht charter ranking with 92.4 of 100 under the published methodology. Three of them are yachts under the company’s management: Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia, ฿180,000 each for a nine-hour Koh Hong and Naka day in high season, and Beluga 88, ฿214,000 for eight hours in Phang Nga Bay and Koh Hong in low season. The others are partner boats in its catalogue. The company runs Phang Nga Bay as a five-hour trip, a full day or a night at anchor, from five piers. Other companies, their fleets and their scores are in the full ranking.

The two price columns show the lowest and the highest listed price for the Phang Nga Bay day named in the row; where a row gives only hours, the price list names the route simply as Phang Nga Bay. † A day charter whose hours are not stated on the page. On the boats that use it, the standard season runs from 1 November to 14 December and from 1 February to 31 October. The prices of Leopard 51 Se La Vie are shown before the ฿20,000 it adds to every day charter from 18 December to 10 January. On Technema 89 Say Yes the low-season price, May to October, is on request; the page of Ferretti 80 Sofia lists high season and peak only. Six boats at Boat Lagoon Marina, Limpopo Axopar 28 and the five power catamarans, add a temporary fuel surcharge of ฿10,000 to the Phang Nga Bay day, in force on all six since 6 April 2026 until further notice. Axopar 37 LILA, also at Boat Lagoon, includes fuel for four engine hours on a full day and charges ฿5,000 for each extra engine hour.

By great-circle distance, James Bond Island (Khao Phing Kan) is about 24 km (13 nautical miles) from Ao Po Grand Marina, Koh Panak 14 km, Koh Hong 17 km and the stilt village of Koh Panyee 30 km. The crossing times are one way at 25 to 30 knots for a speedboat, 15 to 18 for a power catamaran, 10 to 12 for a motor yacht and 6 to 8 for a sailing catamaran, before boarding and stops; a faster yacht takes less. They are given for Ao Po Grand Marina, where 20 of the 48 boats start. From Chalong Pier the distance to James Bond Island is about 53 km and the sea route runs round Cape Panwa. Distances and times for every route are in the guide to Phuket yacht routes.
The pier decides how long the day is. The boats from Ao Po that state the hours list eight. The ten boats from Chalong list seven to ten hours: seven on the speedboats AQVA 37 and Al Dhaen 38 Vice, nine on Technema 89 Say Yes, Ferretti 80 Sofia and Leopard 51 Se La Vie, ten on The Origin 90. Catamarans in general are compared in catamaran charter in Phuket.
Is a half day enough for Phang Nga Bay?
From the marinas on the east and north-east coast a shorter trip works. Five boats in the catalogue publish one:
- Ocean Pearl 42ft, motor yacht, up to 20 guests, Ao Po Grand Marina: James Bond Island in five hours, ฿33,900 all year and ฿36,900 from 20 December to 20 January. The eight-hour Phang Nga Bay day on the same boat is ฿42,900 and ฿45,900.
- Prada 50, power catamaran, up to 20 guests, Ao Po Grand Marina: Koh Hong and Koh Yao in five hours, ฿50,000 in low season, ฿55,000 in high season and ฿60,000 in peak.
- Axopar 37 LILA, speedboat, up to 6 guests, Boat Lagoon Marina: a five-hour half day that its page lists for Phang Nga Bay, Koh Hong and Maiton, ฿59,000 from May to October and ฿69,000 from November to April; fuel for two engine hours is included.
- Fountaine Pajot 40 SUAY, power catamaran, up to 10 guests, Royal Phuket Marina: a five-hour half day to Koh Hong in Phang Nga Bay or to Maiton, ฿69,000 from May to October and ฿79,000 from November to April.
- Beluga 88, motor yacht, up to 22 guests, Ao Po Grand Marina: Koh Hong and Naka in four hours, ฿171,200 in low and high season; not sold in the peak.
A full day adds Koh Panak and its caves, Koh Panyee for lunch ashore and a swimming stop at Naka or on the way back.
Which islands does a Phang Nga Bay day cover?
A Phang Nga Bay day is a loop of four or five stops inside Ao Phang Nga National Park. The yacht pages name them differently, and the difference matters when two quotes are compared:
- James Bond Island named in the full-day price list. Fourteen boats: Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42, Leopard 47 Myra, Lagoon 56 OO7, Fountaine Pajot 40 SUAY, Princess V39 ANFIELD, Azimut Atlantis 50ft, SPLO 74 CHOWA, Pisces 85, Limpopo Axopar 28 and the five power catamarans at Boat Lagoon Marina. Most pair it with Koh Hong and Koh Panak; Azimut Atlantis 50ft, Pisces 85, Limpopo Axopar 28 and the five catamarans add Naka.
- Koh Hong named, James Bond Island not. Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia list a nine-hour Koh Hong and Naka day, Beluga 88 an eight-hour Phang Nga Bay and Koh Hong day, the two Indigo 53 catamarans Phang Nga with Koh Hong, Axopar 37 LILA Phang Nga Bay, Koh Hong and Maiton, Astondoa 102ft Koh Hong, Koh Panak and Naka. Ask whether James Bond Island is in the plan.
- Phang Nga Bay without named islands. The remaining boats, most of them at Ao Po Grand Marina and Royal Phuket Marina. The captain builds the loop around the tide. Two of them name islands only for a shorter trip: Ocean Pearl 42ft sells five hours to James Bond Island, and Prada 50 five hours to Koh Hong and Koh Yao.
Pisces 85 runs the day from 11:00 to 19:00 and returns to Ao Po at sunset; on Leopard 47 Myra and Lagoon 56 OO7 the eight hours can be 09–17, 10–18 or 11–19. What a standard charter covers, from crew and fuel to lunch and transfers, is set out in what is included in a yacht charter.
What should you know about James Bond Island and the Koh Hong lagoon?
James Bond Island is two places. Khao Phing Kan is the island with the beach where guests land; Ko Tapu is the limestone pillar standing in the water beside it. The 1974 Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun was shot here, and the name stuck. Boats may not moor against Ko Tapu and nobody may climb it. The beach is busiest in the middle of the day, when the group tours arrive; a private boat can plan the stop earlier or later.
Koh Hong in Phang Nga Bay is a limestone ring with a lagoon inside, entered through one low passage. Yachts do not go in: the lagoon takes inflatable canoes, two guests in front and a local paddler behind, hired at the island and paid separately. The circuit takes 40 minutes to an hour and needs a mid tide; the tide shifts about 50 minutes a day, so the captain sets the order of the stops from the tide table. Koh Hong in Phang Nga is not the same island as Hong Island in Krabi: they are about 25 km apart, in different provinces and different national parks. If a quote says only Koh Hong, ask which one.
How much is the park fee, and which boats include it?
The Ao Phang Nga National Park fee is ฿300 per foreign adult and ฿150 per child aged 3 to 14, paid in cash; children under 3 go free, and rangers ask visitors to keep the receipt. A day that also enters Hong Island in Krabi or Phi Phi means a second park and a second fee.
Six boats in this guide include the Phang Nga park fee in the price, and a seventh includes it in one of its two packages:
- Leopard 47 Myra and Lagoon 56 OO7, together with hotel transfers and lunch.
- Pisces 85, together with a hotel transfer, lunch and a set drinks allowance.
- Maha Bhetra and Westport 130 Sea Bear.
- SPLO 74 CHOWA at its rate for up to 12 guests, with a land transfer and a long-tail boat; at the rate for 13 to 30 guests the fee is not included.
- Leopard 51 Se La Vie in its VIP package; the Premium package does not include it.
On Technema 89 Say Yes, Ferretti 80 Sofia and Beluga 88 national park fees are added to the price; their pages list them at ฿400 per person per day for the Phi Phi, Krabi and Phang Nga routes. On the other boats the fee is paid where it applies.
How many guests does the price cover?
The listed price often covers fewer guests than the boat can carry. Examples from the yacht pages:
- Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia: 12 guests in the price, ฿2,000 for each additional guest, up to 30 on Say Yes and 25 on Sofia.
- Beluga 88: 12 guests in the price, ฿3,000 for each additional guest, up to 22.
- The Origin 90: 20 guests in the price, ฿1,000 for each additional guest, up to 30.
- Siam Princess 70: 20 guests in the price, ฿1,500 for each additional guest, up to 50.
- Indigo 53 Super Mario: 15 guests in the price, ฿1,000 for each additional guest, up to 55.
- Leopard 47 Myra and Lagoon 56 OO7: 10 guests in the price, ฿2,000 for each additional guest, up to 30 and 25.
- Riva 70 Aria Blue: 10 guests in the price, ฿2,000 for each guest from the 11th to the 16th.
- Westport 130 Sea Bear: 10 guests in the price, ฿10,000 for each additional guest, up to 40.
- Azimut Atlantis 50ft: 8 guests in the price, ฿1,400 for each additional guest, up to 11.
Boats and prices for bigger parties are compared in yacht charter in Phuket for 20 to 30 people. Calm water and a short crossing make the bay a common choice with children; see family yacht charter in Phuket with kids.
What does a Phang Nga Bay day actually add up to?
10 guests on Leopard 47 Myra: ฿59,000 with park fees, transfers and lunch
The full day to Phang Nga Bay with James Bond Island costs ฿59,000 in the standard season for up to 10 guests. Hotel transfers, the national park fee, lunch, beer or Prosecco, air conditioning and Wi-Fi are included, so ฿59,000, or ฿5,900 a head, is the whole bill apart from island admission fees where they apply. From 15 December to 31 January the same day is ฿69,000.
10 guests to James Bond Island in five hours on Ocean Pearl 42ft: ฿36,900
The five-hour James Bond Island trip from Ao Po costs ฿33,900 all year for up to 10 guests. Park fees are not in the price; ten foreign adults at ฿300 add ฿3,000, which makes ฿36,900. The taxi to the marina and lunch at a restaurant are paid separately. From 20 December to 20 January the trip is ฿36,900 before fees.
25 guests on Indigo 53 Super Mario: ฿102,400 with park fees
The eight-hour day with Koh Hong from Chalong Pier costs ฿84,900 for 15 guests all year; ten more at ฿1,000 add ฿10,000. National park and island fees are not included: 25 adults at ฿300 add ฿7,500, so the day comes to ฿102,400, about ฿4,100 a head.
20 guests on Technema 89 Say Yes: ฿196,000 before park fees
The nine-hour Koh Hong and Naka day costs ฿180,000 for 12 guests in high season, and eight more at ฿2,000 each make ฿196,000. A Thai lunch, five crew including a charter manager, soft drinks, fruit, beer and one return transfer for up to 10 guests are in the rate; national park fees, ฿400 per person per day on the boat’s page, are added to the price. In the peak the boat is ฿220,000.
Where do boats to Phang Nga Bay leave from?
Twenty of the 48 leave from Ao Po Grand Marina on the north-east coast, at the mouth of the bay. Ten leave from Chalong Pier in the south, ten from Royal Phuket Marina and seven from Boat Lagoon Marina, both at Koh Kaew on the east coast, and one, Maha Bhetra, from Phuket Yacht Haven in the north. Each boat has a fixed departure pier: Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia are at Chalong, Beluga 88 at Ao Po. Transfer times from the beaches are compared in the guide to Phuket marinas and piers.
When is the best time to go to Phang Nga Bay?
Phang Nga Bay is enclosed by Phuket, Phang Nga and Krabi and sheltered from the open sea, so the day runs all year. November to April is the high season, drier and calmer. From May to October, when the west-coast routes depend on the forecast, the bay is the usual alternative, and the boats with a separate low-season price are cheaper: Beluga 88 is ฿214,000 against ฿267,500 in high season, Princess 54 ฿105,000 against ฿139,000, Olympia 76 ฿180,000 against ฿210,000. The Christmas and New Year peak is priced separately on most boats: ฿299,600 on Beluga 88 and ฿220,000 on Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia. Sea conditions month by month are in the guide to the Phuket yacht season.
Can you stay overnight in Phang Nga Bay?
After a night at anchor in the bay the boat is already among the islands in the early morning, before the day boats arrive from Phuket. Listed prices with a Phang Nga route:
- Leopard 47 Myra, sailing catamaran, 6 guests overnight: two days and one night for ฿135,000 in the standard season, ฿155,000 from 15 December to 31 January.
- Lagoon 56 OO7, sailing catamaran, 8 guests: two days and one night for ฿270,000 in the standard season, ฿295,000 from 15 December to 31 January.
- The Origin 90, motor yacht, 10 guests in 5 cabins: three days and two nights through Phang Nga Bay, James Bond Island, Koh Hong and Koh Panyee for ฿350,000 in the standard season, ฿420,000 from 15 December to 31 January.
Cabins, meals and prices for every boat that takes guests overnight are in overnight yacht charter in Phuket.
How do you compare two Phang Nga quotes?
Put six things side by side: the hours, the pier, the islands named in the route, the number of guests the price covers, the season, and whether the park fee and any fuel surcharge are in the price. An eight-hour quote from Ao Po with James Bond Island, Koh Hong and Panak is not the same day as a nine-hour quote from Chalong with Koh Hong and Naka. Deposits and cancellation terms across companies are compared in how to book and pay for a Phuket yacht charter, prices for every route and boat type in Phuket yacht charter prices 2026, and the Phi Phi day in private yacht from Phuket to Phi Phi.

One way that is 26 to 31 minutes by speedboat, 43 to 52 minutes by power catamaran, 1 h 05 to 1 h 20 by motor yacht and 1 h 40 to 2 h 10 by sailing catamaran. Can a yacht go into the Koh Hong lagoon in Phang Nga Bay?
No. The lagoon inside Koh Hong is entered through one low passage, only by inflatable canoe with a local paddler, hired at the island. The circuit takes 40 minutes to an hour and needs a mid tide: at one end of the tide there is too little water, at the other too little headroom. The tide shifts about 50 minutes a day, so the captain sets the stop from the tide table.
