A wedding on a yacht in Phuket means chartering the whole boat for a full day: eight hours cost from ฿34,900 on a 42-foot sailing catamaran for 15 guests to ฿225,000 on Lobster 78 for 120, and ฿140,000 for 12 guests on the 80-foot Ferretti 80 Sofia or the 89-foot Technema 89 Say Yes. A proposal is an evening instead: a whole boat leaving between 14:00 and 15:00 and returning after sunset costs from ฿21,900 to ฿79,000. The prices of 22 boats below are taken from each boat’s page on 1 October 2026, for the boat with its crew, not per person; there is no wedding surcharge on top.

All 22 boats are listed by Horizon Cruises Phuket, the company ranked first of 23 in the Phuket Rating yacht charter ranking with 92.4 of 100 under the published methodology. It arranges weddings, proposals and receptions aboard: the ceremony at anchor, the reception under way, cake, flowers, a photographer, music and a registrar or celebrant through its event partners, or a turnkey wedding quoted as one figure. Three of the boats are yachts under the company’s management: Technema 89 Say Yes for up to 30 guests, Ferretti 80 Sofia for up to 25 and Beluga 88 for up to 22, each with a charter manager in the crew. Which yachts take a wedding party in Phuket, and what does a full day cost?

The full day is eight hours. Prices are the lowest listed for that day in each season on 1 October 2026; the peak column is the same day in the boat’s peak. On Technema 89 Say Yes low-season prices from May to October are on request. Scallobs 65, Lobster 78 and Pisces 85 price the whole boat by the size of the group (table below), and Indigo 53 Super Mario adds a ฿5,000 supplement from 15 December to 15 January, which its page calls high season. On Fountaine Pajot 42 Tahaa and Nautitech 47 Senna the eight hours can run from 09:00, 10:00 or 11:00, so an 11:00 start brings the boat back at 19:00, after sunset; the private day on Pisces 85 always runs from 11:00 to 19:00 and includes hotel transfers, a gourmet lunch, a drinks package with wine, beer and 30 cocktails, and park fees.

How much does a yacht wedding cost for 12, 20, 30, 50 or 100 guests?

Each figure is calculated from the boat’s page: the lowest full-day price outside the peak plus the published charge for each guest above those included. A dash means the boat is not licensed for that many guests. Extra catering, decoration, music and extra transfers are not in these figures. On Fountaine Pajot 42 Tahaa, Nautitech 47 Senna, Fortuna 55, Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42, Scallobs 65 and Lobster 78 lunch is not in the price at all, so their figures are for the boat without food: Tahaa and Senna let guests bring food and drinks aboard at no charge, Fortuna 55 sells food sets from ฿500 to ฿1,380 per person, Astrea 42 charges meals separately, and Scallobs 65 and Lobster 78 charge ฿200 per guest for outside food.

What does a wedding or proposal on a yacht actually add up to?

30 guests on Technema 89 Say Yes: ฿182,000 with hotel transfers

A full day to Coral Island and Promthep Cape in high season costs ฿140,000 for 12 guests. Eighteen more at ฿2,000 each add ฿36,000, which makes ฿176,000. The rate includes one return transfer for up to 10 guests; two more vehicles for the other 20 cost ฿3,000 each, so the day comes to ฿182,000. Five crew including a charter manager, a Thai lunch, soft drinks, fruit, a case of beer and Prosecco are in the rate. The route does not enter a national park.

20 guests on Nautitech 47 Senna: ฿40,900 for the boat

The eight-hour day costs ฿35,900 for 15 guests in the standard season, and five more at ฿1,000 each make ฿40,900. Food is not in the price; guests may bring food and drinks aboard at no charge. Starting at 11:00 puts the ceremony in the afternoon and the boat back at 19:00. In the peak, 15 December to 31 January, the same day is ฿41,900 plus ฿5,000 for the extra guests, ฿46,900, and the booking is non-refundable.

50 guests on Scallobs 65 with a free-flow bar: ฿210,000

For 41 to 60 guests the eight-hour day costs ฿135,000 in the standard season, with a resident DJ, a bartender, soft drinks and fruit. The standard free-flow package of spirits and beer is ฿1,500 per person for three hours for the whole group, ฿75,000 for 50, so the day is ฿210,000; each extra hour of the bar is ฿500 per person. Lunch is not in that figure: outside food is charged at ฿200 per guest. Groups over 20 need an extra long-tail or tender, and pier, beach and transfer fees are paid by the guests on the day. In the peak the boat costs ฿165,000 and the same day ฿240,000.

60 guests on Pisces 85 with lunch, drinks and transfers included: ฿325,000

For 51 to 60 guests the private day from 11:00 to 19:00 costs ฿325,000 from May to October and ฿350,000 from November to April. Hotel transfers, a gourmet lunch, a drinks package with wine, beer and 30 cocktails, park fees, a jet surf, a floating pool and SUP boards are in that figure, and the boat has a full DJ sound system. In the peak, 20 December to 20 January, the same day is ฿410,000. The boat leaves from Ao Po Grand Marina on the north-east coast.

A sunset proposal for two on Lagoon 450 St Anna: ฿25,900

The half day with sunset, 14:00 to 19:00 to Coral Island, costs ฿25,900 from June to October and ฿29,900 from November to May. The rate covers the whole boat for up to ten guests, so two people pay the same; fruit, snacks and soft drinks are in it. The format is not sold in the peak.

A four-hour sunset with sparkling wine on Axopar 37 LILA: ฿59,000

From Boat Lagoon Marina, 15:00 to 19:00 to Koh Yao Yai, the sunset charter costs ฿59,000 from May to October and ฿69,000 from November to April for up to six guests. A bottle of sparkling wine, a meat and cheese platter for four, fruit, soft drinks and beer are included; an extra platter is ฿2,500.

The day needs the boat for the full charter: a half day of four or five hours leaves no room for both the ceremony and the sunset. The event guide of the same company advises preparing a weather alternative for the ceremony and for any moment tied to the sunset.

Is a wedding on a yacht in Phuket legally binding?

Not by itself. A marriage in Thailand is valid under Thai law only once it is registered at a district office, the amphoe; a wedding ceremony or a religious service without that registration does not make the couple legally married. For foreign couples the Australian Embassy describes four steps:

1. A certificate of no impediment from the couple’s embassy or consulate.
2. A translation of the documents into Thai at a private agency.
3. Authentication by the Thai Department of Consular Affairs, which has a legalisation office in Phuket.
4. Registration at any district office, where an interpreter helps.

Couples usually register on land and hold the ceremony at sea as the celebration. Horizon Cruises Phuket arranges through its partners a registrar for a legal ceremony or a celebrant for a symbolic one; ask which it is and which documents are needed before the date.

What can be arranged on board, and what is not allowed?

The company’s wedding page lists what it organises on its yachts and on most partner boats, each item confirmed in writing with a price before the day:

• Catering beyond the standard lunch: a set dinner, a buffet or canapés, quoted per menu.
• A private chef on the yachts that carry one.
• Cake, flowers and decoration through event partners.
• A photographer, musician, DJ and officiant through the same partners, or brought by the couple; they count toward the licensed capacity. A DJ booked through the company only plays on the boats set up for one (see Music below).
• A turnkey wedding: ceremony, décor, catering, music, photography and guest transfers with one contact, quoted as a single figure.
• Sound: a JBL PartyBox on Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia; Scallobs 65 and Lobster 78 have a resident DJ on a Pioneer XDJ-AZ with a VOID sound system and a bar with a bartender.

Limits worth agreeing in advance:

• Decoration. No balloons, confetti or loose material that can enter the sea; open flames may be prohibited.
• Drinks. Bringing drinks aboard depends on the boat. Scallobs 65 and Lobster 78 charge corkage on outside wine and spirits and sell beer only from the bar; free-flow packages there start at ฿1,500 per person for three hours for groups of 20 or more.
• Age. On Fountaine Pajot 42 Tahaa, Nautitech 47 Senna, Scallobs 65 and Lobster 78 alcohol is served only to guests aged 20 and over.
• Music. The company’s party page says volume limits apply inside the marinas. It names five boats set up for a DJ: Scallobs 65, Lobster 78, Pisces 85, Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia; a DJ and extra sound are booked through the company and paid before the charter, on those boats only. On Fortuna 55 a DJ or live musicians brought by the group come with their equipment, and the generator costs ฿6,000 per trip.

How many guests can come, and do children count?

Children count toward the licensed capacity like anyone else: a boat rated for 30 takes 30 people, not 30 adults. Child-size life jackets are aboard. A wide, flat catamaran deck is the easiest place for small children at a celebration and a speedboat the hardest.

The guest count decides whether it is one boat or two. Above 30 on the yachts under Horizon’s management, or above what a chosen boat is licensed for, the celebration runs on two boats in company: the same route and anchorage, guests moving between them by tender, at the price of two day rates. For 50 guests in high season, Technema 89 Say Yes with 30 and Ferretti 80 Sofia with 20 would cost ฿176,000 and ฿156,000, ฿332,000 together; one boat licensed for 50 or more costs from ฿91,150 on Fortuna 55 to ฿150,000 on Lobster 78, both without food, and ฿300,000 on Pisces 85 with lunch, drinks and transfers. Which boats suit a proposal at sunset?

A proposal needs the opposite scale from a wedding: two people, a short evening charter and a bay with nobody else in it. Every price above is for the whole boat. Beyond these formats, the Horizon Cruises Phuket sunset page offers a two-hour sunset charter on any boat in its catalogue, including Technema 89 Say Yes, Ferretti 80 Sofia and Beluga 88, priced on request per boat and date; hotel transfer is not included on that format. The company’s event guide suggests agreeing one simple cue with the manager and crew. Alcohol, canapés or a dinner are arranged in advance and quoted separately.

What time is sunset in Phuket, and which months are best?

Sunset falls between about 18:15 in December and 18:45 in June, and a sunset charter leaves about an hour and a half before it. November to April is the settled season, with flat water and a clear horizon; May to October brings cloud and the occasional evening shower, and on many boats a lower price. On the yachts under Horizon’s management, if the Thai Marine Department closes the port on the day, the charter moves to a new date or is refunded in full. Partner boats follow a different rule: on Fountaine Pajot 42 Tahaa, Nautitech 47 Senna, Scallobs 65 and Lobster 78 a charter goes ahead in ordinary rain and is not refunded, and is refunded in full if the Thai Meteorological Department officially bans all boat operations. Can you book a wedding or a sunset charter in the peak season?

A full day, yes, at the peak rate shown in the first table. Shorter formats are limited: the Horizon Cruises Phuket sunset page says the two-hour sunset charter is not offered from 20 December until 10 to 20 January, depending on the boat, and Leopard 51 Aurora and Lagoon 450 St Anna do not sell their sunset half day in the peak. Satisfaction 55, Grand Banks Sambuca and Mami Wata list a peak sunset price, and the afternoon half days of Kiri Long-tail 40, Fountaine Pajot 40 Coco and 42 Tahaa, the Nautitech 47 catamarans and Indigo 53 Super Mario stay on sale at a peak rate. How do the deposit and cancellation work?

On the yachts under Horizon’s management, Technema 89 Say Yes, Ferretti 80 Sofia and Beluga 88, a 50 percent deposit confirms the booking and the balance is paid on the day; cancellation 30 days or more before the date returns the deposit in full, and 29 days or less, it is not returned. Leopard 51 Aurora, Lagoon 450 St Anna and Mami Wata list the same terms. Any yacht can be viewed before you pay. Other boats publish different terms on their pages:

• Kiri Long-tail 40, Fountaine Pajot 40 Coco, Fountaine Pajot 42 Tahaa, Nautitech 47 Senna and Nautitech 47 Pepper: full payment at booking; cancellation 7 days or more before departure is refunded in full, 3 to 6 days before at 50 percent, and less than 72 hours before not at all.
• Scallobs 65 and Lobster 78: a 50 percent deposit when booking 30 days or more ahead and the balance 15 days before the charter; cancellation 30 days or more before is refunded in full, 16 to 29 days before at 50 percent, and less than 15 days before not at all.
• Pisces 85: a 50 percent deposit; cancellation less than 20 days before departure returns 50 percent of the charter price, and less than 7 days before nothing.
