A private boat to the Khai islands costs from ฿33,900 in the 2026/27 season on a 37 ft speedboat, a 40 ft long-tail boat or a 42 ft motor yacht, and up to ฿550,000 on the 130 ft Westport 130 Sea Bear; a half day to Maiton starts at ฿20,900 on a sailing catamaran. The table lists 51 boats with a published price for Khai, Maiton or both on 4 October 2026; a second table adds 22 that name the islands among their routes at one half-day or full-day price, from ฿21,000. Every price is for the whole boat with its crew, not per person.

All 51 boats are listed by Horizon Cruises Phuket, the company ranked first of 23 in the Phuket Rating yacht charter ranking with 92.4 of 100 under the published methodology. Three of them are yachts under the company’s management: Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia, ฿110,000 for a four-hour half day to Racha Yai or Khai in high season, and Beluga 88, ฿171,200 for a four-hour day to Khai and Naka. The others are partner boats in its catalogue. These are private charters priced per boat. Its pages describe the Khai islands as a half day of four to five hours with shallow water and a short beach stop, and Maiton as a half day with an 08:00 departure on the price list, in practice often moved to 09:00 or 10:00, and a stop kept in the water, because its charters do not land guests on the island. Other companies, their fleets and their scores are in the full ranking.

How much is a private boat to the Khai islands and Maiton?

The table is sorted by each boat’s cheapest price, Khai or Maiton. A trip cell gives the route, the hours, the price and the season of that price; the Peak column gives the price of the same rows in the peak and its dates. † marks a trip whose hours the page does not state. How the cells read:

• Menu day. This guide’s label for a card that lists several routes at one price. On the 10 Chalong Pier boats of this kind the card lists several routes, such as Racha Yai + Banana Beach, Maiton + Banana Beach and Khai Nok + Khai Nai, at one price, so where the Khai and Maiton cells show the same price, it is that price. Lagoon 56 OO7 and Leopard 47 Myra at Ao Po list one price for an eight-hour day that is either Phang Nga Bay (Panak, Hong, James Bond Island) or Khai Nok + Khai Nai + Naka Yai + Naka Noi + Phae.
• Seasons. The standard season runs from 1 November to 14 December and from 1 February to 31 October. Outside the peak on the three CoCo Pier boats means all year except 27 December to 2 January and 13 to 15 April; on Fortuna 55 it means all year except 15 December to 28 February.
• Guests in the price. Azimut 46 is priced for 1 to 8 guests; Ocean Pearl 42ft, 53ft Grand Banks Sambuca, Azimut 55 After 8, Cranchi 58 Scenery, Princess 65 and Westport 130 Sea Bear for 1 to 10; Gin 37 for up to 6; Azimut Atlantis 50ft and Bertram 50ft for 8; Leopard 51 Se La Vie for 10 on the Premium package. Lobster 78 and Scallobs 65 price by group size and the row shown is the first group: 1 to 40 guests on Lobster 78 and 1 to 20 on Scallobs 65.
• No peak tier. Axopar 37 LILA, Fountaine Pajot 40 SUAY, Princess V39 ANFIELD, Jawsss and Seascape 2 list no peak price; the Peak column shows their high-season price. Leopard 51 Se La Vie adds ฿20,000 to every day charter from 18 December to 10 January, and its VIP package costs ฿114,900 for Maiton and ฿144,900 for Khai.
• Half days in the peak. Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia do not run half days from 20 December to 20 January. On Technema 89 Say Yes the low-season price, May to October, is on request; Ferretti 80 Sofia lists high season and peak only.

How do Khai, Maiton and Naka compare?

Distances and crossing times are from the guide to Phuket yacht routes, which gives them one way at 25 to 30 knots for a speedboat and 10 to 12 for a motor yacht, before boarding and stops. The Maiton figure from Ao Po comes from Horizon’s Maiton page, which puts the island 15 km from Chalong Pier where the routes guide has 14. Horizon’s page that separates Koh Khai from Chicken Island in Krabi gives slightly different straight-line figures: Khai Nok 21 km from Ao Po, and 20 and 24 km from Chalong Pier for Khai Nok and Khai Nai. The two sources agree on the order: Khai is the shorter run from Ao Po and Maiton the shorter run from Chalong.

By the sources, Khai is a half-day island and Maiton a half-day water stop; Naka is sold as a pairing. Of the 49 boats with a Khai price, 16 sell their cheapest Khai trip as a half day of four or five hours; of the 42 with a Maiton price, 12. Naka does not appear alone in the price rows used here. Where the page states hours, the Khai and Naka day is eight hours; Beluga 88 sells it as four.

What does a Khai or Maiton day actually add up to?

6 guests, five-hour Khai Island trip on Ocean Pearl 42ft: ฿33,900, ฿5,650 each

The trip costs ฿33,900 all year for 1 to 10 guests, so six guests pay the base price with nothing added. The motor yacht leaves from Ao Po Grand Marina, 16 km from the Khai islands. From 20 December to 20 January the same trip is ฿36,900.

12 guests, eight-hour Maiton, Khai and Naka day on Ocean Pearl 42ft: ฿44,500, ฿3,708 each

The day costs ฿42,900 for 1 to 10 guests, and two more at ฿800 each add ฿1,600. From 20 December to 20 January the base is ฿45,900, or ฿47,500 for 12.

20 guests on Technema 89 Say Yes, eight-hour Khai and Maiton day: ฿166,000, ฿8,300 each

The full day, Racha Yai + Coral or Koh Khai + Maiton, costs ฿150,000 in high season, November to April, for 12 guests, and eight more at ฿2,000 each add ฿16,000. Ferretti 80 Sofia sells the same day at the same price, with room for 25 guests; Say Yes takes 30. In the peak, 20 December to 20 January, the day is ฿190,000, or ฿206,000 for 20. The yacht pages add a national park fee of ฿400 per person per day on the Phi Phi, Krabi and Phang Nga routes and do not name Khai or Maiton among them.

30 guests on Nautitech 47 Senna, eight-hour menu day: ฿50,900, ฿1,697 each

The menu day, with Khai Nok + Khai Nai as one of its routes, costs ฿35,900 in the standard season for up to 15 guests, and fifteen more at ฿1,000 each add ฿15,000; 30 is the boat’s maximum. Its sister boat Pepper has the same prices. From 15 December to 31 January the base is ฿41,900, or ฿56,900 for 30.

What these totals leave out: Horizon’s article on the Coral Island and Maiton day puts the crew, fuel for the agreed route, insurance, water and soft drinks, snorkelling gear, life jackets, fruit, ice, tea, coffee and towels in the rate, and lists lunch where it is not included, transfers, alcohol, watersports and extra guests as paid separately. Which routes combine the Khai islands with Maiton or Naka?

The price rows name four kinds of day. Khai alone as a half day of four or five hours, for example on Ocean Pearl 42ft, Azimut 46 and Princess 54. Khai with Rang Yai or with Naka, a five- or eight-hour day; Rang Yai is not Racha Yai, which is 24 km south of Chalong Pier. Maiton with Khai as a day of eight hours. And the menu day, where Khai Nok + Khai Nai is one of the choices at a single price.

Six Ao Po boats list Khai Island, Khai + Naka and Maiton + Khai on their cards:

Prices are May to October. On these boats the gap between Khai with Naka and Maiton with Khai is the same in the high season and the peak as in May to October. Riva 70 Aria Blue sells the same pair without the half day: Khai with Naka ฿129,000, Maiton with Khai ฿139,000. On all seven the Maiton day costs ฿5,000 to ฿10,000 more than the Naka day, which fits the distances: Maiton is 34 km from Ao Po on Horizon’s page, Khai 16 km. How far are the Khai islands and Maiton, and how long is the crossing?

The routes guide gives the Khai islands at 16 km (8.7 nautical miles) from Ao Po Grand Marina and 24 km (13 nautical miles) from Chalong Pier. From Ao Po the crossing is 17 to 21 minutes by speedboat, 29 to 35 by power catamaran, 44 to 52 by motor yacht and 1 h 05 to 1 h 27 by sailing catamaran. It gives no time for the longer run from Chalong.

Maiton is 14 km (7.5 nautical miles) from Chalong Pier: 15 to 18 minutes by speedboat, 25 to 30 by power catamaran, 38 to 45 by motor yacht and 55 to 75 by sailing catamaran. Horizon’s page for the island adds the other piers: 24 km from Royal Phuket Marina, with 25 to 30 minutes by speedboat, and the same for Boat Lagoon Marina, which shares its approach channel; and 34 km from Ao Po, with 30 to 45 minutes by speedboat and 40 minutes to 2 hours by motor yacht. Where do the boats to the Khai islands and Maiton leave from?

All 19 boats from Ao Po have a Khai price and 11 of them a Maiton price. Chalong Pier has 18 boats with a Khai price, 10 of them as one choice on a menu day, and 19 with a Maiton price. Boat Lagoon Marina has one boat, Axopar 37 LILA, which prices Maiton only. The 22 boats in the route-list table add 16 from Boat Lagoon Marina, 4 from Royal Phuket Marina, 1 from Ao Po Grand Marina and 1 from CoCo Pier. Can you land on Maiton, and is there a park fee?

Maiton is a private island. Horizon’s page for it, updated 28 September 2026, says access has been suspended until further notice and that the island is private property. The company does not put guests ashore: the stop is in the water around the island, with snorkelling from the boat and equipment on board, and in the low season the boat sits on the eastern, sheltered side. The page says its captains see dolphins in the strait fairly often, not on every charter, and that it does not sell the sighting. The routes guide says that landing depends on the island’s rules, so a quote should say whether any landing is planned.

On fees the pages differ. The routes guide says there is no park fee at Maiton or the Khai islands, and Horizon’s pages say neither is in a marine national park. Happy Ours 58 lists a Marine National Park entry fee for Maiton and Khai Island among what is not included. SPLO 74 CHOWA says its rate for up to 12 guests includes a Marine National Park fee and its group rate for 13 to 30 guests does not. Astondoa 102ft lists island fees as included, except at Maiton. Gin 37 and Sea Ray Sundancer 46 Vodka call the Khai Islands national park waters, list national park fees as not included and say they do not use water toys there. None of these pages names an amount for Khai or Maiton, so the safe step is to have the fee, or its absence, written into the quote.

What do you do at the Khai islands?

Horizon’s page describes Khai Nok and Khai Nai as a half-day stop close to Phuket: shallow water and a short beach stop, with a tender onto sand. Its Phi Phi article says Khai Nok often goes in as the last stop on the way home. Astondoa 102ft’s page lists Khai Nok for jet ski and water sports, and Ferretti 80 Sofia and Happy Ours 58 list a jet ski, available only at Naka or Khai, for ฿22,000 among their extras. Gin 37 and Sea Ray Sundancer 46 Vodka do not use water toys there. Snorkelling is described at Maiton rather than Khai: from the boat, in the water around the island.

How many guests does the price cover?

The listed price often covers fewer guests than the boat can carry. Examples from the yacht pages:

• Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia: 12 guests in the price, ฿2,000 for each additional guest, up to 30 on Say Yes and 25 on Sofia.
• Beluga 88: 12 guests in the price, ฿3,000 for each additional guest, up to 22.
• The Origin 90: 20 guests in the price, ฿1,000 for each additional guest, up to 30.
• Nautitech 47 Senna and Pepper: 15 guests in the price, ฿1,000 for each additional guest, up to 30.
• Fountaine Pajot 40 Coco and 42 Tahaa: 15 guests in the price, ฿1,000 for each additional guest, up to 20.
• Fortuna 55: 20 guests on the morning trip and 25 on the other programmes; each additional guest ฿1,250 on the morning and full-day trips and ฿1,000 on the half day, up to 50.
• Ocean Pearl 42ft: 1 to 10 guests, ฿800 for each additional guest, up to 20.
• Azimut 55 After 8, Cranchi 58 Scenery and Princess 65: 1 to 10 guests, ฿1,500 for each additional guest.

When is the best time to go to the Khai islands and Maiton?

November to April is the calmest season: the routes guide lists both as best in those months, and the season guide puts Phang Nga Bay, Koh Hong, Naka and Koh Khai in their calmest water. From May to October the east side keeps running on most days because the mainland blocks the swell. Horizon’s page says Maiton works year-round as a water stop, with the best visibility from November to April, and that in the low season its captains sit on the sheltered eastern side. May to October is also the cheapest season on the boats that list one. On 11 Ao Po boats the same Khai trip costs ฿5,000 to ฿12,000 more from November to April, for example ฿89,000 against ฿77,000 on Princess 54, and Westport 130 Sea Bear is ฿720,000 against ฿550,000. The Chalong menu-day boats have no low-season step; their standard season covers the whole year apart from the peak, 15 December to 31 January, which adds ฿5,000 on AQVA 37 and ฿30,000 on Lobster 78. A Khai trip is not sold in the peak on 7 boats, and a Maiton trip on 5.

Which other boats name the Khai islands or Maiton in their routes?

The 22 boats above have no price row that names the islands. Their pages list Khai or Maiton among the routes, with Khai paired with Naka or Rang Yai on most of them, and sell a half day and a full day at one price. The two price columns are the lowest half-day and full-day prices on each card, in any season, from ฿21,000 to ฿390,000, so they show what the boat costs, not a quoted price for these islands. On six of them (Limpopo Axopar 28, Shashani, Shibuli, Sanyati, Zambezia and Shangani 70) the page adds a ฿10,000 fuel supplement to the Khai, Maiton and Rang Yai island-hop day. Two further boats mention Maiton only in passing or inside a multi-day itinerary, Leopard 51 Aurora and Sunreef 60 Eco E-MOTION, and are not counted.

How do you compare two quotes?

Put six things side by side: the hours, the islands named in the route, the number of guests the price covers, the season, whether any fee or fuel supplement is in the price, and whether the boat lands guests anywhere. A five-hour Khai Island quote is not the same day as an eight-hour Maiton and Khai quote, and a menu day with Khai Nok + Khai Nai as one choice is not a promise of Khai on the day. Rows for Chicken Island (Koh Kai) in Krabi and the jet-ski extra at Naka or Khai are not counted. For each boat the cheapest Khai trip and the cheapest Maiton trip were taken in the cheapest season of the card; Peak is the price of the same row. Each figure was checked against the boat’s page with its hours, season and guest basis.
