A sailing yacht charter in Phuket costs from ฿20,900 for a four-hour half day and from ฿34,900 for a full day on a sailing catamaran in the 2026/27 season, and from ฿100,000 for two days and one night; the range runs up to ฿571,800 for three days and two nights on a 60 ft Sunreef. The table lists 15 sailing boats, 14 catamarans and one 95 ft ketch, each with skipper and crew, with their length, guest limits, departure pier and lowest listed prices, taken from each boat’s page on 4 October 2026. Every price is for the whole boat, not per person.

All 15 are listed by Horizon Cruises Phuket, the company ranked first of 23 in the Phuket Rating yacht charter ranking with 92.4 of 100 under the published methodology. Its sailing pages offer half-day and full-day charters on sailing catamarans from Chalong Pier, Ao Po Grand Marina and Nakalay Pier in Kalim, and multi-day voyages, led by the ketch Aventure, which runs no day charters. Every boat is chartered with crew, and the company’s sailing catamaran page says no experience is needed. The three yachts under the company’s management, Technema 89 Say Yes, Ferretti 80 Sofia and Beluga 88, are motor yachts and are not in this guide; the sailing boats are partner boats in its catalogue, among them Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42. How much does a sailing yacht charter cost in Phuket?

The price columns show the lowest listed price: the half day, the full day, the full day in the boat’s peak window and the shortest overnight package, in the hours the card states. Each lowest price belongs to the cheapest season on that card: May to October on Pina Colada 40 and Satisfaction 55, June to October on Lagoon 450 St Anna and 2 March to 30 November on Astrea 42. On the boats with a standard season it runs from 1 November to 14 December and from 1 February to 31 October. Aventure has one rate all year. The Lobster 78 price is for up to 40 guests; the boat publishes a price for each group size up to 120. The Satisfaction 55 half day is five hours; her three-hour sunset charter starts at ฿39,000. St Anna sells no half days in her peak window, and Astrea 42, Lagoon 56 OO7 and Lobster 78 list no half day. Aventure and Sunreef 60 Eco E-MOTION have no day charters.

How much does a multi-day sailing charter cost?

Seven of the 15 boats sell nights aboard: six sailing catamarans and Aventure. The table shows the lowest listed price for two days and one night, three days and two nights and four days and three nights, in the season named in the fifth column, and the longest package on each card.

Pina Colada 40 is the lowest at ฿100,000 for up to 6 guests, about ฿16,667 a guest, with all meals on overnight tours. Leopard 47 Myra and Lagoon 56 OO7 list two prices for two days and one night; the table shows the Phang Nga Bay and Khai and Naka islands trip, and the Phi Phi trip costs ฿150,000 on Myra and ฿295,000 on OO7 in the standard season. Astrea 42 builds the price from the day rate: each day at the rate of its season plus ฿5,000 per night, so three days and two nights are 3 × ฿50,000 plus 2 × ฿5,000, ฿160,000.

Aventure charges the same all year, and each night costs less than the one before: the second night adds ฿140,000 and the seventh ฿126,000. On the longest itineraries she crosses into the Mergui Archipelago in Myanmar, which the card prices at USD 6,000 extra for relocation and paperwork.

Sunreef 60 Eco E-MOTION has no day charters. Her short charters start at three days and two nights, counted from 12:00 to 12:00, and the price is final: it already includes the onboard package of ฿90,000 for two nights, full board and fuel on the chosen standard route. Her seven-night weekly charter is priced in US dollars on APA terms: USD 44,000 in low season, USD 54,000 in high season and USD 59,000 in the peak from 20 December to 10 January, plus 30% APA. On an APA charter food, drinks, transfer, fuel, port, marina and park fees are paid from the APA fund as they arise; an unused balance is returned and a shortfall is topped up.

Do sailing yachts in Phuket actually sail, and how fast are they?

Under sail when the wind allows and under engine when it does not. The company’s sailing catamaran page says the captain decides: in light or head winds part of a trip runs under engine, and nobody can promise a full day under sail in advance. The Aventure page says a ketch sails properly only when there is wind and that the crew motors when there is none.

Cruising speed is on 13 of the 15 pages. Four boats list 7 knots (Fountaine Pajot 40 Coco, Fountaine Pajot 42 Tahaa, Pina Colada 40 and Satisfaction 55) and eight list 8 knots (Nautitech 47 Senna and Pepper, Leopard 47 Summer S, Leopard 48 Summer V, Leopard 47 Myra, Lagoon 56 OO7, Lobster 78 and the ketch Aventure). Sunreef 60 Eco E-MOTION lists 11 knots under sail and 5 under power. St Anna and Astrea 42 state no speed. Times are one way, before boarding and stops. Khai Nok and Khai Nai, which the Chalong boats list on their full days, are 24 km from Chalong Pier, the same distance as Racha Yai.

For an eight-hour day, Racha Yai and back is 3 h 20 to 4 h 20 under way, about half the day. Phi Phi is another matter: there and back takes 6 h 20 to 8 h 30 at 6 to 8 knots, so under sail it is an overnight destination, reached by Astrea 42, Myra and OO7 on two-day charters. Lagoon 450 St Anna lists a ten-hour day to Phi Phi and Maiton from ฿52,900 in low season. If a distant island is the reason for the trip, the company’s sailing catamaran page recommends a power catamaran or a motor yacht. Power catamarans are estimated at 15 to 18 knots and reach Phi Phi in 1 h 25 to 1 h 40 one way; they are priced in the catamaran guide, and Phi Phi prices for all boat types are in private yacht from Phuket to Phi Phi. Is a sailing charter in Phuket with skipper and crew, or bareboat?

With skipper and crew. None of the 15 boats is offered bareboat, and every price is for the boat with its crew. The pages give the crew as 3 on Fountaine Pajot 40 Coco, Fountaine Pajot 42 Tahaa, Nautitech 47 Senna and Pepper, Leopard 47 Summer S, Leopard 48 Summer V and Pina Colada 40; as 3 by day and 4 overnight on Leopard 47 Myra and Lagoon 56 OO7; as 4 on Aventure and Sunreef 60 Eco E-MOTION; and as 5 on Lobster 78. The pages of Lagoon 450 St Anna, Astrea 42 and Satisfaction 55 name a skipper, a captain or a professional crew without a number. The company’s sailing catamaran page says guests need no experience: the rig is the crew’s job.

Sailing catamaran or sailing yacht: what is the difference?

Aventure is the only monohull in the list; the other 14 boats are catamarans.

Aventure is a 29 m (95 ft) ketch with two masts, built in 2011, with a crew of four. She takes up to 7 guests in three double cabins and one single, and runs only multi-day itineraries, from two days and one night to eight days and seven nights, through the southern and northern Andaman Sea and, on the longest programmes, into the Mergui Archipelago. She boards at Phuket Yacht Haven or at Koh Rang Yai, departing from Royal Phuket Marina. Check-in is from 10:00 on the first day and check-out after sunset on the last.

The company’s page on the ketch states the trade-off. A keel hull cuts through a swell, so at sea overnight a monohull is calmer than a multihull, and a narrow hull heels, which is the sensation sailors come for. What a ketch gives up is deck space and level footing at anchor, which a catamaran does well; neither is better, the page says, they are built for different weeks. What does a sailing charter actually add up to?

Four worked examples from the cards, outside the peak. Park fees are paid per person where a route enters a national park.

10 guests for a full day on Fountaine Pajot 40 Coco: ฿34,900

The eight-hour day costs ฿34,900 for up to 15 guests, so ten guests pay the same: ฿3,490 each. Fountaine Pajot 42 Tahaa is priced the same. The routes to Racha Yai, Maiton, Coral Island and the Khai islands enter no national park, so the day has no park fee. Lunch, hotel transfer and alcohol are not included, though food and drinks can be brought aboard at no charge. An extra hour on the same route costs ฿3,600. From 15 December to 31 January the same day is ฿39,900, ฿3,990 a head for ten; the four-hour morning to Coral Island or Maiton is ฿20,900 outside the peak.

20 guests for a full day, sailing against power: ฿39,900 or ฿59,900

Coco takes up to 20 guests, 15 in the base price and five more at ฿1,000 each, so the full day comes to ฿39,900, about ฿1,995 a head. The Fortuna 55 power catamaran leaves from the same Chalong Pier on comparable Coral Island, Racha, Maiton and Khai routes for ฿59,900, ฿2,995 a head, which is ฿20,000 more. Two totals match a peak price in the main table, ฿39,900 on Coco and ฿155,000 on Lagoon 56 OO7; here they are standard-season prices with extra guests. What the extra ฿20,000 on Fortuna 55 buys is speed: Racha Yai is 43 to 52 minutes one way by power catamaran and 1 h 40 to 2 h 10 under sail, and the Fortuna page also lists a ten-hour Phi Phi day at ฿82,900. 8 guests for three days and two nights on Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42: ฿160,000

Three days and two nights from 2 March to 30 November are 3 × ฿50,000 day rates plus 2 × ฿5,000 for the nights, ฿160,000, or ฿20,000 a guest. The boat sleeps 8 in four cabins, and the price includes the captain, fuel, fruit, soft drinks, air conditioning, snorkelling and fishing gear. Meals are not included: the menu on board is ฿500 per guest for groups of six or more, and the page does not say how many meals a menu covers. Park and island fees and the transfer to Ao Po Grand Marina are extra too; if the Phi Phi leg enters the park, 8 foreign adults at ฿400 add ฿3,200, ฿163,200 before meals. Lagoon 450 St Anna costs ฿166,900 for the same three days and two nights in her low season, June to October, ฿6,900 more, and her price includes a private chef and all meals; park and island fees and the transfer to Chalong Pier are extra.

7 guests for two days and one night on Aventure: ฿290,000

The rate is the same all year, about ฿41,429 a guest. The crew of four, full board, airport and hotel transfers, local beer and house wines, national park fees, fishing gear, a kayak, two paddleboards and diving and snorkelling equipment are in it; the dive instructor, fine wines, champagne and spirits and crew gratuities are not. Three days and two nights cost ฿430,000, ฿140,000 more than the first two days, and eight days and seven nights ฿1,088,000.

What is included in a sailing charter price?

Captain and crew are in every price, and all 15 pages state that VAT is included. The company’s what’s-included page lists fuel for the agreed route among the items in every charter, and the Astrea 42 page and the short-charter terms of Sunreef 60 Eco E-MOTION state it. The rest differs by boat:

• Coco, Tahaa, Senna, Pepper, Summer S, Summer V: a welcome drink, soft drinks and water, fruit, life jackets, masks and snorkels, towels, a paddle board and a sea float. Lunch, hotel transfer, alcohol and park and island fees are extra. Senna, Pepper, Summer S and Summer V have an air-conditioned saloon.
• Lagoon 450 St Anna: Wi-Fi, air conditioning, snorkelling and fishing gear, a kayak, a paddle board and the dinghy; a Thai buffet lunch on full days, not on half days; a private chef and all meals overnight. Alcohol, park and island fees and the transfer are extra.
• Astrea 42: captain, fuel, fruit, soft drinks, towels, air conditioning, a sound system, snorkelling and fishing gear. Meals, park and island fees and the transfer are extra.
• Leopard 47 Myra and Lagoon 56 OO7: hotel transfers, park fees, lunch on full days, 24 cans of local beer or two bottles of Prosecco, air conditioning and Wi-Fi; a chef and all meals overnight. Island admission fees are extra.
• Pina Colada 40 and Satisfaction 55: a professional crew, soft drinks, snacks, fruit, paddleboards, floating toys, snorkelling and fishing gear, towels, life jackets and a sound system. Pina Colada 40 adds lunch on day tours and all meals overnight; Satisfaction 55 lists no lunch.
• Lobster 78: captain, crew, hostess, a bar with a bartender (drinks by menu), a resident DJ, a welcome mocktail, soft drinks, fruit, two underwater scooters, a water slide and paddle boards. Park, island and port fees are extra, and food brought aboard costs ฿200 per guest.
• Aventure and Sunreef 60 Eco E-MOTION: full board and a crew of four; Aventure inclusions are in the worked example above, and on Sunreef short charters transfer, park fees and alcohol are extra.

What is the best time of year for a sailing charter in Phuket?

From November to April the north-east monsoon brings the driest weather, the calmest sea on the west coast and every route. From May to October the south-west monsoon brings about three quarters of the year’s rain, and open-sea routes to the west depend on the daily forecast, while Phang Nga Bay, sheltered by the Phang Nga and Krabi mainland, works all year; the five boats from Ao Po Grand Marina work that bay. The Chalong boats go to Racha Yai, which the routes guide calls open to south-west swell, with November to April the reliable window. Wind matters more to a sailing boat than to a motor yacht. Weather Spark’s long-term data shows easterly winds from 31 October to 1 April and westerly winds from 1 April to 31 October; the mean wind speed is lowest in March and April, 9 km/h, and highest in July and August, 14 km/h. The season guide marks March as calm with the lightest winds, and the company’s page says part of a trip runs under engine in light winds. The Aventure and Sunreef pages say the charter manager will say which months deliver the sailing.

Prices follow the calendar. On Coco the standard season covers 1 November to 14 December and 1 February to 31 October, and the peak, 15 December to 31 January, adds ฿5,000 to the full day: ฿34,900 and ฿39,900. St Anna costs ฿42,900 for a full day from June to October, ฿47,900 from November to May and ฿59,900 from 20 December to 15 January. Pina Colada 40 costs ฿45,000, ฿55,000 and ฿65,000 for Phang Nga Bay over May to October, November to April and 20 December to 20 January, Satisfaction 55 ฿59,000, ฿69,000 and ฿89,000, and Astrea 42 ฿50,000, ฿55,000 and ฿60,000. Sunreef 60 Eco E-MOTION costs ฿571,800 for three days and two nights in low season and ฿736,800 in the peak; Aventure has no seasonal rate. Who is a sailing charter for?

The pages point to three kinds of trip: a quiet day near the coast under sail, a large group on a wide, shaded deck and a voyage of several days. The boats sort by the number of guests they take by day:

The base price often covers fewer guests than the boat takes: 15 on Coco, Tahaa, Senna, Pepper, Summer S and Summer V, with ฿1,000 for each extra guest; 10 on St Anna (฿1,250), Pina Colada 40 (฿1,500), Myra and Lagoon 56 OO7 (฿2,000); 20 on Satisfaction 55 (฿1,000). With children, the company’s page calls a flat, wide deck and a slow pace calmer than a fast speedboat and asks guests to confirm child-size life jackets; see yacht charter in Phuket with children. The same page says guests who must be somewhere by a particular hour usually find sailing frustrating; for them a motor boat is the better answer.
