The rate includes the crew of six with a hostess and a private chef, food, soft drinks, a jet ski, a water slide, the national park fee and VAT 7%; the transfer to the marina is not included. 40 guests on Vanora 170, eight hours: ฿588,500

The 170 ft liveaboard prices the whole yacht, the same all year, VAT included: ฿481,500 for four hours, ฿588,500 for eight, ฿695,500 for 24 hours with a night on board. For 40 guests the eight hours come to about ฿14,700 a head, and the same figure covers up to 80. 12 guests on Song of Songs, all-inclusive day: USD 37,500

The 139 ft yacht sells an eight-hour all-inclusive day for up to 12 guests at USD 37,500, with meals, all beverages from champagne to cocktails, two jet skis and other water toys, fuel for the published itinerary, satellite Wi-Fi, round-trip airport transfers and national park permits. Twenty guests cost USD 42,300 at USD 600 for each guest above 12. Gratuities of 10 to 15 per cent, spa and massage, diving, a Seabob and an e-foil are not included.

Why are some prices in US dollars, and what is APA?

Song of Songs prices every package in US dollars, and Westport 130 Sea Bear prices its weekly charter in US dollars; all other rates in this guide are in Thai baht. APA, the advance provisioning allowance, is a fund paid with the charter fee for food, drinks, fuel and port fees and settled at the end; the unused balance is refunded. On Sea Bear’s week it is 25%, so the low-season week is USD 118,750 paid in advance, of which USD 23,750 is the fund. On Song of Songs the nightly charter of USD 25,000 covers the yacht, the crew and the water toys; meals, drinks, fuel, park permits, airport transfers and Wi-Fi are paid from an APA of about 25%, and a 15% Thai waters tax is added, so one night comes to USD 28,750 with tax and about USD 35,000 paid in advance with the fund. The all-inclusive packages carry neither the tax nor the APA, and their premium food and beverage upgrade costs USD 2,500 on a day and USD 5,000 on the two-day package.

Day and overnight numbers differ on every yacht. Astondoa 102ft takes 25 by day and sleeps up to ten in two king and two twin cabins, eight of them in the rate, with a crew of six; the company’s guide notes that it is listed for up to 25 day guests, not 30. Westport 130 Sea Bear takes 40 and sleeps ten in three double and two twin cabins, with a crew of seven. Song of Songs takes 20 and sleeps twelve in six cabins, with a crew of eight to ten including an engineer. Vanora 170, built in 2023 as a 52 m liveaboard, takes 80 by day and sleeps 22 in four double and seven twin cabins. On Westport 130 Sea Bear and Vanora 170 the balance is due seven days before departure; cancelling 30 days or more before departure refunds the deposit in full, 15 to 29 days before refunds half of it, and less than 15 days before refunds nothing.
