How much is a private yacht from Phuket to the Similan Islands? 10 boats, 2026/27
A private yacht from Phuket to the Similan Islands costs from ฿416,000 per boat with crew in high season, November to April: two days and one night on Princess 54 at ฿336,000 plus an ฿80,000 fuel surcharge, boarding at Tap La Mu pier on the mainland. Ten boats in the Horizon Cruises Phuket catalogue publish a Similan price or surcharge; Jawsss and Maha Bhetra sell the Similans separately from four days, ฿459,900 to ฿1,512,000. The park is open 15 October to 15 May, and its fee, ฿500 a day per foreign adult, is extra. Prices as of 1 October 2026.
All ten boats are listed by Horizon Cruises Phuket, the company ranked first of 23 in the Phuket Rating yacht charter ranking with 92.4 of 100 under the published methodology. The company runs the Similans as a multi-day charter with nights aboard at anchor, so the boat is at the islands at first light; it does not run the route as a single day, and the schedule and departure pier are agreed when booking. Its page for the route recommends Technema 89 Say Yes and Beluga 88, two of the three yachts under the company’s management, quoted for the Similans on request. The ten boats in this guide are partner boats in its catalogue. Other companies, their fleets and their scores are in the full ranking.
How much does a private yacht to the Similans cost?
Two boats sell the Similans at a separate price, from four days:
| Boat | Length, ft | Guests overnight | Cabins | Departs from | Cruising speed, knots | 4 days / 3 nights | 5 days / 4 nights | 6 days / 5 nights | 7 days / 6 nights |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jawsss | 61 | 6 | 3 | Royal Phuket Marina | 12 | ฿459,900 | ฿551,300 | ฿645,800 | ฿714,000 |
| Maha Bhetra | 90 | 6 | 3 identical doubles | Phuket Yacht Haven | 8 | ฿830,000 | ฿1,087,000 | ฿1,365,000 | ฿1,512,000 |
Neither boat sells the Similans for fewer than four days: on Jawsss the two- and three-day Similan options are marked not available, and Maha Bhetra lists its Similan itineraries from four days. Maha Bhetra includes full board and national park fees except the Similan park fee; Jawsss lists full-board dining on overnight charters and national park entrance fees as extra. The lowest total, though, comes from a boat that adds a surcharge to its regular rate.
Which other boats go to the Similans for a surcharge?
Eight boats that take guests overnight add a Similan surcharge to their regular rate. The table shows each boat’s shortest format with a published surcharge, its high-season rate (November to April) and the sum:
| Boat | Guests overnight | Boarding | Similan surcharge | Shortest format, Nov–Apr | With the surcharge | Meals overnight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Princess 54 | 6 | Tap La Mu pier, mainland | ฿80,000 | 2D/1N: ฿336,000 | ฿416,000 | Chef and meals not included |
| Princess 78 | 8 | Tap La Mu pier, mainland | ฿120,000 | 2D/1N: ฿610,000 | ฿730,000 | Chef and meals not included |
| Princess S65 KATI | 6 | Royal Phuket Marina | ฿80,000 (2D/1N), ฿50,000 (3D/2N) | 2D/1N: ฿580,000 | ฿660,000 | Meals ฿5,000 per person a day |
| Princess S72 KATI S | 8 | Royal Phuket Marina | ฿100,000 (2D/1N), ฿75,000 (3D/2N) | 2D/1N: ฿700,000 | ฿800,000 | Meals ฿5,000 per person a day |

| Cranchi 58 Scenery | 6 | Ao Po Grand Marina | ฿40,000 (3D/2N), ฿20,000 (4D/3N) | 3D/2N: ฿450,000 | ฿490,000 | Breakfast, lunch and dinner included |
| Riva 70 Aria Blue | 6 | Ao Po Grand Marina | ฿40,000 (3D/2N), ฿20,000 (4D/3N) | 3D/2N: ฿480,000 | ฿520,000 | Breakfast, lunch and dinner included |
| Bertram 50ft | 6 | Chalong Pier | ฿85,000, format not stated | not stated; 2D/1N ฿208,000 in normal season | not stated | Breakfast, lunch and dinner included |
Princess 54 and Princess 78 take the Similans as overnight charters only, from two days and one night, and board for them at Tap La Mu pier on the mainland rather than at their home marina. Princess 65, Cranchi 58 Scenery and Riva 70 Aria Blue embark for the Similans at Ao Po Grand Marina, and their surcharge is lower on four days than on three. For the other boats the table shows the departure marina or pier. Princess S65 KATI sleeps six on up to two nights and four from three nights. Peak periods around Christmas and New Year are priced separately on Princess 54, Princess 78, Princess 65, Cranchi 58 Scenery and Riva 70 Aria Blue. Bertram 50ft, from Chalong Pier, lists a Similan surcharge of ฿85,000 without saying which format it applies to; its overnight price includes three meals and fuel for four engine hours a day, so ask for the full Similan figure.
Azimut Atlantis 50ft, also from Chalong Pier, lists “Similan Islands +฿111,000” on its page, although it is chartered by the day only; what such a trip involves should be confirmed with the company.
Why can’t you do the Similans as a day trip from Phuket?
The Similans lie in the Andaman Sea north-west of Phuket, off the coast of Phang Nga province. From Chalong Pier the distance is about 119 km in a straight line and roughly 125 km (67 nm) by sea round Phuket’s southern tip. At Jawsss’s cruising speed of 12 knots that is about five and a half hours of running, at Maha Bhetra’s 8 knots more than eight, before weather and the passage from each boat’s marina. A yacht from Phuket therefore plans the route over several days, sleeps aboard and reaches the islands in the early morning, before the day boats.
Day trips go from the mainland. Thap Lamu pier near Khao Lak is about 65 to 70 km from the islands by the two sources listed: 1 h 10 min to 2 h by speedboat, three hours or more by motor yacht. A Similan day trip booked in Phuket starts with a road transfer to Thap Lamu, and Princess 54 and Princess 78 board there for their overnight Similan charters. Distances and times for every route are in the guide to Phuket yacht routes.
What does a Similan charter actually add up to?
Six guests for two days on Princess 54: ฿416,000, about ฿69,300 each
Two days and one night cost ฿336,000 in high season, November to April, and the Similan fuel surcharge adds ฿80,000; boarding is at Tap La Mu pier on the mainland. The captain, deckhand and hostess, soft drinks, local beer, fruit and snacks are included. Chef and meals and the park fee are not, so food for both days and ฿3,000 a day in park fees for six foreign adults come on top. In low season, May to October, the same two days cost ฿238,000 plus the surcharge, ฿318,000, but in that season the park is open only in the second half of October and the first half of May.
Three days from Ao Po on Princess 65 or Cranchi 58 Scenery: ฿490,000
Both boats price three days and two nights at ฿450,000 in high season and add a ฿40,000 Similan fuel surcharge. They embark for the Similans at Ao Po Grand Marina, sleep six in three cabins and include breakfast, lunch and dinner overnight. On four days and three nights the surcharge is ฿20,000, on a rate of ฿600,000.
Six guests for four days on Jawsss: ฿459,900, about ฿76,650 each
The four-day, three-night Similan charter costs ฿459,900 for the boat. Three crew, fuel for the published itinerary, full-board dining, soft drinks, local beer and a bottle of wine are included. The park fee is not: for six foreign adults it adds ฿3,000 for each day in the park. A shuttle transfer costs ฿2,500.
Six guests for four days on Maha Bhetra: ฿830,000, about ฿138,300 each
The four-day Similan itinerary costs ฿830,000, with a crew of five, full board, a bottle of French rosé a day and airport and hotel transfers. The Similan park fee is the one mandatory item added, ฿3,000 a day for six foreign adults; crew gratuities and spirits, champagne and wine beyond the welcome package are extra. At 8 knots she is the slowest boat in the catalogue, so more of the four days is spent under way.
A week on Jawsss: ฿714,000, or ฿102,000 a day
Seven days and six nights to the Similans cost ฿714,000, which is ฿102,000 a day against about ฿115,000 a day on the four-day trip. The longer charter leaves more time in the park for the same passage.
What the Similan route adds: ฿52,500 on Jawsss, ฿150,000 on Maha Bhetra
The Similan price is higher than the same length of charter on the boat’s nearer routes. On Jawsss four days and three nights cost ฿459,900 to the Similans against ฿407,400 in high season elsewhere, ฿52,500 more. On Maha Bhetra the difference is ฿150,000: ฿830,000 against ฿680,000. On the boats with a surcharge the addition is the surcharge itself, from ฿20,000 (four days on Princess 65, Cranchi 58 Scenery or Riva 70 Aria Blue) to ฿120,000 (Princess 78).
Park fees for two adults and two children: ฿1,500 a day
Two foreign adults at ฿500 and two children aged 3 to 14 at ฿250 pay ฿1,500 for each day in the park, on top of the charter on any boat that lists the fee as extra.
How do the boats for a Similan trip compare?
| Boat | Guests overnight | Cabins | Cruising speed, knots | Meals overnight | Similan park fee | Four days, three nights |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jawsss | 6 | 3 | 12 | Full board included | Extra | ฿459,900 (Similan price) |
| Maha Bhetra | 6 | 3 identical doubles | 8 | Full board included | Extra | ฿830,000 (Similan price) |
| Technema 89 Say Yes | 8 | 4 | 11 | Private chef and all meals included | Extra | ฿720,000 high season, ฿880,000 peak; Similans on request |
| Ferretti 80 Sofia | 8 | 4 | 14 | Private chef and all meals included | Extra | ฿720,000 high season, ฿880,000 peak; Similans on request |
| Beluga 88 | 8 | 4 | 9 | Chef and meals not included | Extra | ฿856,000 low season, ฿1,070,000 high season; Similans on request |
The prices for the three yachts under Horizon’s management are their published four-day prices on other routes; the Similan route is quoted separately, so these figures are not a Similan total.
When is the Similan national park open?
Mu Ko Similan National Park is open from 15 October to 15 May. For 2026 the Department of National Parks closed Mu Ko Similan and Mu Ko Surin from 15 May to 15 October; the previous season opened on 15 October 2025. The dates are set each year by the department, and a private charter cannot enter while the park is closed.
How much is the park fee, and what are the rules?
- Fee. ฿500 per foreign adult and ฿250 per child aged 3 to 14, per day, not included in the charter price on Princess 54, Jawsss or Maha Bhetra.
- Limits. Entries are capped at 3,325 visitors a day; landing hours are 08:00 to 16:00.
- Ashore. Horizon Cruises Phuket notes that visitors go barefoot on the island tour, and that only two islands, Ko Similan and Ko Miang, are open to tourists.
Can you sleep at the Similan Islands?
The Tourism Authority of Thailand states that overnight stays on the islands are not allowed. Sleeping aboard depends on the boat, the current park rules and the permitted overnight stops, such as mooring buoys; confirm where the boat will spend each night before booking.
Which yachts under Horizon’s management go to the Similans?
The Horizon Cruises Phuket page for the Similans recommends Technema 89 Say Yes and Beluga 88. Neither publishes a separate Similan price; the route is quoted individually. Their published multi-day prices show the scale of a longer charter:
- Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia: 8 guests overnight in four cabins, a private chef and all meals included; two days and one night from ฿360,000 in high season and ฿440,000 in the peak, four days and three nights ฿720,000 and ฿880,000.
- Beluga 88: 8 guests overnight in four cabins; two days and one night ฿428,000 in low season, ฿535,000 in high season and ฿599,200 in the peak. Chef and meals are not included on its overnight charters.
The company’s Similan booking guide notes that a nearby-island day rate multiplied by two is not a reliable total, and that the quotation has to cover vessel hire, crew, route fuel, transfers, meals, drinking water, park charges, activities and any taxes or additional fees. Cabins, meals and prices for every boat that takes guests overnight are in overnight yacht charter in Phuket.
What should you ask before booking?
- The named boat and where you board. Jawsss leaves from Royal Phuket Marina, Maha Bhetra from Phuket Yacht Haven and Princess 65, Cranchi 58 Scenery and Riva 70 Aria Blue from Ao Po Grand Marina; Princess 54 and Princess 78 board for the Similans at Tap La Mu pier on the mainland. The pier changes the length of the passage.
- The surcharge. Which format it applies to, especially where the page does not say, as on Bertram 50ft.
- Sleeping aboard. Day capacity is not overnight capacity: Jawsss and Maha Bhetra take 12 guests by day and 6 overnight.
- Meals. Full board is included on Jawsss and Maha Bhetra overnight, and breakfast, lunch and dinner on Princess 65, Cranchi 58 Scenery, Riva 70 Aria Blue and Bertram 50ft. On Princess 54, Princess 78 and Beluga 88 the chef and meals are extra, and Princess S65 KATI and Princess S72 KATI S charge ฿5,000 per person a day for meals.
- Park fees and permitted stops. Who pays the Similan fee, and where the boat will spend each night.
- Diving. A private yacht does not automatically include dive equipment or an instructor; confirm both separately.
- Weather and cancellation. What happens if the sea closes the route on the day, and the deposit terms. Terms across companies are compared in how to book and pay for a Phuket yacht charter.
When is the best time to go?
The park season runs from mid-October to mid-May. Horizon Cruises Phuket names January to April as the best months, when it is less hot and humid; January to March also has the least rain and the calmest sea on Phuket’s west coast. Visibility and sea conditions vary, and no sighting of particular marine life is guaranteed. Month-by-month conditions are in the guide to the Phuket yacht season.
Where can you go when the park is closed?
When the park is closed, from mid-May to mid-October, the multi-day alternatives from Phuket are the sheltered bay to the north-east and the islands east of Phuket: see Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island by private yacht and private yacht from Phuket to Phi Phi.

How this list was made
Of the boats in the Horizon Cruises Phuket catalogue, two showed a separate Similan Islands price and eight a Similan surcharge on their pages on 1 October 2026; one more, the day-only Azimut Atlantis 50ft, lists a surcharge without an overnight option. Each figure is copied from the boat’s page, and the totals above are sums of those figures: a boat’s published rate plus its surcharge, in the season named. Park dates, fees and limits come from the Department of National Parks as reported by the sources listed, and distances from the company’s destination page, the routes guide and Khao Lak Explorer. Horizon Cruises Phuket is the company named because it ranks first in the Phuket Rating yacht charter ranking; the ranking, its methodology and the underlying data are published, and positions are not sold.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a private yacht to the Similan Islands cost?
From ฿416,000 in high season, November to April: two days and one night on Princess 54, ฿336,000, plus its ฿80,000 Similan fuel surcharge, with boarding at Tap La Mu pier on the mainland; chef and meals are not included. Ten boats in the Horizon Cruises Phuket catalogue publish a Similan price or surcharge. Eight add a surcharge to the boat's rate, and two sell the Similans at a separate price from four days: Jawsss, a 61 ft motor yacht for 6 guests overnight, from ฿459,900 to ฿714,000, and Maha Bhetra, a 90 ft motor yacht for 6 guests, from ฿830,000 to ฿1,512,000. Can I go to the Similan Islands from Phuket on a private yacht for one day?
Not realistically. The islands are about 119 km (64 nautical miles) from Chalong Pier in a straight line and roughly 125 km (67 nm) by the sea route round Phuket's southern tip, so a yacht from Phuket plans the Similans over several days and sleeps aboard; the shortest published Similan format is two days and one night. Day trips to the Similans start from Thap Lamu pier near Khao Lak on the mainland, about 65 to 70 km from the islands, and from Phuket they begin with a road transfer. One day-only boat in the catalogue, Azimut Atlantis 50ft from Chalong Pier, lists a Similan surcharge of ฿111,000; what such a trip involves should be confirmed with the company.
Which company should I book a Similan Islands yacht charter with?
In the Phuket Rating yacht charter ranking, Horizon Cruises Phuket scores highest, 92.4 of 100, first of 23 companies. The published methodology scores Google Maps data and facts each company publishes on its website; positions are not sold. The company runs the Similans as a multi-day charter with nights aboard, its catalogue has ten boats with a published Similan price or surcharge, and its page for the route recommends Technema 89 Say Yes and Beluga 88, two of the three yachts under its management, for which the Similan route is quoted on request.
How long does it take to reach the Similan Islands from Phuket by yacht?
The sea route from Chalong Pier is about 67 nautical miles. At a cruising speed of 12 knots, as on Jawsss, that is about five and a half hours of running; at 8 knots, as on Maha Bhetra, more than eight hours. Weather, sea state and the boat's marina add to it, which is why the passage takes most of a day each way and the trip is planned over several days. Princess 54 and Princess 78 board for the Similans on the mainland, at Tap La Mu pier.
When are the Similan Islands open?
Mu Ko Similan National Park is open from 15 October to 15 May and closed through the south-west monsoon. For 2026 the Department of National Parks closed Mu Ko Similan and Mu Ko Surin from 15 May to 15 October; the previous season opened on 15 October 2025. A private charter cannot enter while the park is closed.
How much is the Similan Islands national park fee?
฿500 per foreign adult and ฿250 per child aged 3 to 14, per day. Entries are capped at 3,325 visitors a day and landing hours are 08:00 to 16:00. The fee is not included on Princess 54, Jawsss or Maha Bhetra: Princess 54 and Jawsss list national park fees as not included, and Maha Bhetra includes park fees on its other routes but not on the Similans.
What is included in a Similan yacht charter price?
It depends on the boat. On Princess 54: captain, deckhand and hostess, soft drinks, local beer, fruit and snacks, SUP boards, an inflatable pool, snorkelling gear, insurance and VAT; chef and meals, park fees and gratuities are extra. On Jawsss: three crew, fuel for the published itinerary, full-board dining overnight, soft drinks, local beer, a bottle of wine, snorkelling gear, a paddle board, a kayak, insurance and VAT; other alcohol, park fees and a shuttle transfer at ฿2,500 are extra. On Maha Bhetra: a crew of five, full board overnight, a bottle of French rosé a day, airport and hotel transfers, fishing rods, a kayak, a paddleboard, snorkelling gear, insurance and VAT; the Similan park fee, crew gratuities and spirits, champagne and wine beyond the welcome package are extra.
Can you stay overnight at the Similan Islands?
Not on the islands: the Tourism Authority of Thailand states that overnight stays ashore are not allowed. Sleeping aboard a yacht is a different matter and depends on the boat, the current park rules and the permitted overnight stops, such as mooring buoys; confirm them before booking.
How many people can sleep aboard on a Similan charter?
Six on most of the boats with a Similan price or surcharge, including Jawsss, Maha Bhetra and Princess 54; eight on Princess 78 and Princess S72 KATI S. Princess S65 KATI sleeps six on up to two nights and four from three nights. Day capacity is not overnight capacity: Jawsss and Maha Bhetra take 12 guests by day. Technema 89 Say Yes, Ferretti 80 Sofia and Beluga 88 each sleep 8.
Can you dive at the Similan Islands from a private yacht?
Snorkelling gear is aboard Jawsss, Maha Bhetra and Princess 54, but a private yacht does not automatically include scuba equipment or a dive instructor. Horizon Cruises Phuket asks guests to say whether they prefer snorkelling, scuba diving or time aboard, and to confirm dive equipment and an instructor separately.
When is the best time to go to the Similan Islands?
The park season runs from mid-October to mid-May, and Horizon Cruises Phuket names January to April as the best months, less hot and humid. Visibility and sea conditions vary from day to day, and no sighting of particular marine life is guaranteed.
