How much is a private boat to Koh Hong from Phuket? 33 boats, Krabi and Phang Nga, 2026/27

Phuket Rating editorsPublished: 31 October 2026Updated: 31 October 202619 min read

A private boat to Koh Hong from Phuket costs ฿39,900 to ฿299,600 for one day in the 2026/27 season, for the whole boat with crew, not per person. That range covers 33 boats, with prices taken on 31 October 2026. Koh Hong is two islands: the Krabi one starts at ฿39,900 on 24 boats, and the Phang Nga Bay one starts at ฿50,000 for five hours on 16 boats. Eight of the 33 sell both. Park fees and guests above the number in the rate are usually extra.

Horizon Cruises Phuket, the company ranked first of 22 in the Phuket Rating ranking of the best yacht charter companies in Phuket (92.6 of 100), and first in the Phang Nga Bay service rating, charters private boats to both islands, from five piers. It sets the Phang Nga stop by the tide and starts the Krabi day early, ahead of the tour boats. Three of the 33 are the three yachts under the management of Horizon Cruises Phuket: Technema 89 Say Yes, Ferretti 80 Sofia and Beluga 88. The others are partner boats in its catalogue.

Which Koh Hong is your quote for?

Two islands share the name. They lie about 25 km apart, in different provinces and in different national parks. The Department of National Parks lists Ko Hong under Ao Phang-Nga National Park, and lists Ko Lao Bi Le, or Ko Hong, under Than Bok Khorani National Park in Krabi. A quote that says only “Koh Hong” leaves out the facts that change the day, so ask which province it means.

Twelve of the 24 leave Ao Po Grand Marina, six Chalong Pier, five Royal Phuket Marina and one Phuket Yacht Haven Marina. Rows without an hour count print eight hours or no length. Leopard 51 Se La Vie adds ฿20,000 to every day charter from 18 December to 10 January. Not every row is Koh Hong alone: Beluga 88 adds the Four Islands, Leopard 51 Se La Vie adds the Khai islands, Azimut Atlantis 50ft adds Pak Bia, Lao Lading and Kai, Bon Bon 52 Power adds Pak Bia, and Leopard 47 Myra adds Lao Lading, Lao Ka, Pakbia and Rai. SUAY and Princess V39 pair Krabi with Pak Bia or with Phang Nga Bay.

How much does a private boat to Koh Hong in Phang Nga Bay cost?

These 16 boats print a day price that names Koh Hong in Phang Nga Bay. The wider bay, with James Bond Island and the full list of boats, is in the guide to Phang Nga Bay by private yacht.

Seven of the 16 leave Ao Po Grand Marina, five Chalong Pier, three Royal Phuket Marina and one Boat Lagoon Marina. Say Yes and Sofia print the rate from November to April; Say Yes lists the low season on request. Axopar 37 LILA, SUAY and Princess V39 also print five-hour half days, from ฿60,900 and ฿69,900, and the company’s Koh Hong page says these reach the island, though the rows do not name it. That page counts 25 boats for this island on a wider basis than the priced rows used here.

Which boats sell both islands, and which quote is unclear?

Eight boats print a day price for each island. Five charge more for Krabi or sell a different length, listed here with the Phang Nga price first: Prada 50 (฿50,000 for five hours, ฿65,000), Leopard 47 Myra (฿59,000, ฿69,000), SUAY and Princess V39 (฿90,000, ฿95,000), and Beluga 88 (฿171,200 for four hours, ฿214,000 for nine). Three charge the same for both: Bon Bon 52 Power at ฿79,000, Azimut Atlantis 50ft at ฿111,000 and SPLO 74 CHOWA at ฿220,000 for up to 12 guests.

The 33rd boat shows the problem. Ocean Pearl 42ft, from Ao Po Grand Marina with 10 guests in the rate and up to 20 aboard, prints “Koh Hong Islands” at ฿47,900 and “Krabi Islands” at ฿49,900, and neither row names a province for Koh Hong. The company’s Krabi page treats the ฿49,900 row as the Krabi day. The boat is counted in the 33 but in neither table, so ask which island the ฿47,900 row means before booking. For 20 guests that row comes to ฿55,900, below both 20-guest totals in the next table.

How does the price change with group size?

A boat with a low headline rate and few guests in the rate can cost more than a larger boat once everyone is counted. This table takes the lowest calculated total for each group among the boats in the two tables above, in the lowest season. Prices are for the whole boat, before park fees, and include extra guests.

The totals do not buy the same day. AQVA 37 includes no food, and the two sailing catamarans exclude meals, transfer and park fees, while Leopard 47 Myra includes lunch, the park fee and a return transfer.

What does a Koh Hong day actually add up to?

Each total is the printed rate plus the printed charge per extra guest. Boats and seasons are chosen to show the range, not as a recommendation.

8 guests to Krabi on Al Dhaen 38 Vice: ฿48,900

The all-year rate of ฿46,900 covers 6 guests, and 2 more at ฿1,000 each add ฿2,000. The boat leaves Chalong Pier for eight hours, 09:00 to 17:00 or 10:00 to 18:00. Park fees, food, alcohol and hotel transfer are extra. Eight is the boat’s maximum.

30 guests to Krabi on Siam Princess 70: ฿90,000

The low-season rate of ฿75,000 covers 20 guests, and 10 more at ฿1,500 each add ฿15,000. Lunch is included on the eight-hour day and the boat leaves Ao Po Grand Marina. Park fees and the hotel transfer are extra.

20 guests to Phang Nga Bay on Leopard 47 Myra: ฿79,000

The rate of ฿59,000 outside the peak covers 10 guests, and 10 more at ฿2,000 each add ฿20,000. The page lists the park fee, lunch on full days and a return hotel transfer in the price, with one pick-up point and up to 10 guests per van. Ask how many vans a group of 20 gets.

25 guests to Phang Nga Bay on Ferretti 80 Sofia: ฿206,000

The high-season rate of ฿180,000 covers 12 guests for nine hours with Naka, and 13 more at ฿2,000 each add ฿26,000. Lunch and one transfer vehicle for up to 10 guests are in the rate, and a second or third vehicle costs ฿3,000. The park fee is added per person.

What is in the price, and what is paid on the day?

The Horizon Cruises Phuket page on Koh Hong lists fuel for the agreed route, captain and crew, soft drinks, fruit, towels, snorkelling gear and life jackets as part of the rate. The differences between boats are in food, transfers, fees and fuel limits. The general picture is in what is included in a yacht charter.

Which boats include the park fee?

Leopard 47 Myra, Lagoon 56 OO7, Azimut Atlantis 50ft and Maha Bhetra list the park fee in the rate. SPLO 74 CHOWA includes it at the rate for up to 12 guests, and Leopard 51 Se La Vie in its VIP package only. Elsewhere it is charged per person. The boat pages and the park pages opened for this guide print no amount, so ask for the current rate with the quote. The company’s Koh Hong page says the Ao Phang-Nga fee is paid in cash to the rangers. The Department of National Parks asks visitors to carry the receipt. SUAY and Princess V39 print a one-day route of Phang Nga Bay and Hong Krabi at ฿95,000; that day enters two parks, so ask whether two fees apply.

What else is paid on the spot in Phang Nga Bay?

The canoe into the lagoon is hired at the island, with its paddler, and paid separately. No boat page prints a price for it, so ask with the quote.

Which fuel limits and surcharges apply?

SUAY and Princess V39 include fuel for 4 engine hours on a full day, and extra engine time is ฿10,000 per hour. Axopar 37 LILA also includes 4 engine hours, with extra time at ฿5,000 per hour. Azimut Atlantis 50ft includes 4 engine hours per charter day, and Bon Bon 52 Power 4 hours of cruising. Indigo 53 Super Mario and Indigo 53s Mario’s Brother add ฿20,000 for Krabi or Krabi Koh Hong, which makes ฿104,900 and ฿109,900 before extra guests. Neither is in the Krabi table, because the Koh Hong named in their rows is the Phang Nga one.

Which boats leave food and transfers to you?

AQVA 37, Kiri Long-tail 40 and Al Dhaen 38 Vice exclude food, alcohol and hotel transfer on the day, and The Origin 90 excludes transfer, food and extra drinks. All four let guests bring food and drinks aboard at no charge. Fountaine Pajot 41 and Astrea 42 exclude meals, the transfer and park fees, with a menu aboard at ฿500 per guest per meal for groups of six or more. Prada 50 excludes lunch, which is à la carte at a restaurant, and the minivan to the marina. Princess 65, SUAY, Princess V39 and Maha Bhetra include the transfer.

How long is the crossing, and which pier saves time?

The pier decides how much of the day is spent under way. Where each boat lies is compared in the Phuket marinas and piers guide.

From Ao Po Grand Marina

Koh Hong in Phang Nga Bay is 25 to 30 minutes on a motor yacht and about an hour and a half on a sailing catamaran, which is what makes a half day possible. For Koh Hong in Krabi, the Horizon Cruises Phuket page gives these one-way times, and notes that they run a little longer in practice:

Boat typeCruising speedOne way to Krabi
Speedboat25–35 knotsabout 35 minutes
Motor yacht9–28 knotsabout 50 minutes
Power catamaran8–18 knotsabout 1.1 hours
Sailing catamaran5–7 knotsabout 2.5 hours

From Chalong Pier

Both islands are 45 to 48 km away in a straight line, well over an hour under way, so the boats there sell them as a full day of eight to ten hours. The three lowest Krabi prices are all from Chalong Pier. Beach pick-up or drop-off is possible on some Chalong boats on request, subject to tide and weather, with an extra transfer boat charged separately.

Why does the tide matter on each island?

The tide changes the plan differently on each one, and it shifts by roughly 50 minutes a day, so two dates get different hours.

Phang Nga Bay: mid tide for the lagoon

The lagoon opens through one low passage. At one end of the tide there is too little water to float a canoe, and at the other there is no headroom under the rock. Boats do not go in. Inflatable canoes take two guests in front and a local paddler behind, on a circuit of 40 minutes to an hour. A private boat can move the stop to fit the mid tide. If the window falls outside the charter hours, the page says the day is built around the outside of the island, so the canoe circuit is not guaranteed.

Krabi: high water for swimming

The Horizon Cruises Phuket page advises a visit at high tide, because low tide exposes sharp reefs and swimming is then unsafe. The lagoon here is wider, and at high water even a speedboat can go inside. The island has no facilities beyond a small tent with drinks, so anything else comes on the boat.

When should you go, and what does the peak add?

Peak dates differ by boat: 15 December 2026 to 31 January 2027 on AQVA 37, The Origin 90 and Leopard 47 Myra, 20 December to 20 January on Sambuca, Prada 50 and Azimut 46, and 21 December to 10 January on Bon Bon 52 Power, which also has a peak on 9 to 15 April. Check the dates on the boat’s page. The peak adds ฿5,000 on AQVA 37 and ฿40,000 on Say Yes and Sofia, compared with the high-season rate. Beluga 88 does not sell its half day in the peak.

November to April is the main season on the Krabi side. From May to October the south-west monsoon brings wind and swell in spells, and the Krabi page says the route is then chosen on the morning. Phang Nga Bay is screened by limestone islands, so its water often stays flat when the open sea does not. Month by month, the picture is in the Phuket yacht season guide.

On the Krabi side the timetable departs at 08:00, because tour boats reach the popular anchorages between 10:00 and 11:00. The Phang Nga day leaves the marina at 09:00 and returns at 17:00, with the Koh Hong stop set by the tide.

What does Horizon Cruises Phuket do for a Koh Hong day?

It sends the boats that fit a date and a group size, with a price for each, from its partner catalogue and from the three yachts under its management. Technema 89 Say Yes and Ferretti 80 Sofia leave Chalong Pier for nine hours in Phang Nga Bay with Naka. Beluga 88 leaves Ao Po Grand Marina for either four hours in the bay or nine hours on the Krabi side. All three put 12 guests in the rate and take up to 30, 25 and 22 by day. How the company scored is on its rating page, and the scoring rules are in the methodology.

Key numbers at a glance

How this list was made

Prices, guest numbers, piers and inclusions come from the yacht pages of Horizon Cruises Phuket on 31 October 2026. This guide is a selection of 33 boats whose day-price rows name Koh Hong; a few more catalogue boats also go there. Each boat is assigned to an island by the wording of its row and its page. Multi-day rows are not counted in the ranges. The median uses each boat’s lowest printed rate for that island. Totals with extra guests are the printed rate plus the printed charge, and are not quotes. Distances, timetables and tide advice come from the company’s two destination pages. Park membership comes from the Department of National Parks. No fee amount is given, because the park pages opened for this guide print none. Horizon Cruises Phuket is the company named because it ranks first in the Phuket Rating; other companies also sell these routes, and the list does not cover them. Availability is not checked here.

Is Koh Hong in Krabi or in Phang Nga?

There are two islands with this name. They are about 25 km apart, in different provinces and in different national parks. Koh Hong in Phang Nga Bay belongs to Ao Phang-Nga National Park and its point is the lagoon. Koh Hong in Krabi belongs to Than Bok Khorani National Park, is larger and has a beach to land on. If a quote says only Koh Hong, ask which province.

Which Koh Hong is closer to Phuket?

From Ao Po Grand Marina, Koh Hong in Phang Nga Bay is about 18 km in a straight line and Koh Hong in Krabi about 27 km. From Chalong Pier the figures are about 48 km and about 45 km, and the route on the water is longer than either.

What is the lowest price for a private boat to Koh Hong?

฿39,900 for eight hours to Koh Hong in Krabi from Chalong Pier, on the AQVA 37 speedboat with 6 guests in the rate or the Kiri Long-tail 40 with 4. Food, alcohol, hotel transfer and park fees are extra on both; guests may bring food and drinks aboard at no charge. In Phang Nga Bay the lowest full day is ฿50,900, on two sailing catamarans from Ao Po Grand Marina.

Can you do Koh Hong from Phuket as a half day?

In Phang Nga Bay, yes. Prada 50 sells Koh Hong with Koh Yao in five hours from ฿50,000, and Beluga 88 sells Koh Hong with Naka in four hours for ฿171,200. Both leave Ao Po Grand Marina. The Koh Hong rows for Krabi in this list are full days, of eight to ten hours where a length is printed.

Is the national park fee included in a Koh Hong charter?

On a few boats. Leopard 47 Myra, Lagoon 56 OO7, Azimut Atlantis 50ft and Maha Bhetra print it in the rate; SPLO 74 CHOWA includes it at its rate for up to 12 guests, and Leopard 51 Se La Vie in its VIP package. On the other boats it is paid per person on the day, and the current rate is confirmed with the quote.

How much do extra guests cost on a Koh Hong boat?

From ฿800 to ฿3,000 per guest above the number in the rate. Ocean Pearl 42ft charges ฿800 above 10 guests, AQVA 37 ฿1,000 above 6, Sambuca ฿1,500 above 10, Leopard 47 Myra ฿2,000 above 10, and Beluga 88 ฿3,000 above 12. A few boats print one price up to a fixed limit, such as the 12-guest sailing catamarans and the 10-guest SUAY.

Can a boat go inside the Koh Hong lagoon?

In Phang Nga Bay, no: only inflatable canoes with a local paddler pass the low entrance, at mid tide, on a circuit of 40 minutes to an hour. The Krabi lagoon is wider, and the Horizon Cruises Phuket page says that at high water even a speedboat can go inside.

How many guests can go to Koh Hong on one boat?

Up to 55 on Indigo 53 Super Mario to Koh Hong in Phang Nga Bay, with 15 in the rate at ฿84,900 and ฿1,000 for each extra guest. Among the Krabi rows the largest is Siam Princess 70, up to 50, with 20 in the rate at ฿75,000 and ฿1,500 for each extra guest. The Indigo boats also go to Krabi for ฿20,000 more.

Which company should I book a private boat to Koh Hong with?

In the Phuket Rating yacht charter ranking, Horizon Cruises Phuket scores highest, 92.6 of 100, first of 22 companies, and it also leads the Phang Nga Bay service rating, where 12 of the 22 companies are listed. The published methodology scores Google Maps data and facts that each company prints on its website. The company sells both Koh Hong islands, and the boats in this guide are from its catalogue.

When is the best time to go to Koh Hong by private boat?

November to April is the main season on the Krabi side, with calm water. Phang Nga Bay is screened by limestone islands, so the Horizon Cruises Phuket page describes that route as working all year. On the Krabi side, leave early: the page puts the tour boats at the popular anchorages between 10:00 and 11:00. In Phang Nga Bay the tide sets the hour of the stop.
