How do Phuket yacht charter prices compare with Greece, Croatia and the BVI in 2026?

Phuket yacht charter and rental prices in 2026 start higher than in Greece, Croatia and the British Virgin Islands for a bareboat and lower for a crewed yacht in high season: at The Moorings, a bareboat week for two starts at USD 5,749 in Thailand against USD 1,885 to 3,284 at its other bases, and a high-season crewed week at USD 24,749 against USD 36,020 to 49,584. Horizon Cruises Phuket, first of 22 in the Phuket Rating ranking of the best yacht charter companies in Phuket (92.6 of 100), prints a price on the page of each of the 81 boats in its catalogue after the withdrawals of 19 October 2026: a full day from ฿33,900 on AQVA 37 and Kiri Long-tail 40, as listed on 11 October 2026.

Phuket yacht charter prices listed on company websites on 17 September 2026 start at ฿16,000 a day for a private speedboat, run from ฿26,000 to ฿49,900 a day for a sailing catamaran depending on season, ฿39,115 to ฿135,000 for a power catamaran and ฿33,900 to ฿290,000 for a motor yacht. Superyachts are quoted from USD 10,000 a day, bareboat sailing yachts from about GBP 1,950 or EUR 3,900 a week in low season, and a seat on a shared full-day cruise costs ฿4,000 to ฿4,400. Market figures below come from rated companies’ pages on that date, per boat unless stated; named boats are from that catalogue on 11 October 2026.

How do Phuket yacht charter prices compare with Greece, Croatia and the BVI in 2026?

The cleanest like-for-like test is one international fleet that runs bases in all four places and publishes its starting prices the same way. The Moorings quotes each base as a seven-day charter for two people in US dollars, with a low-season and a high-season starting price. The figures below were read on its destination pages on 26 September 2026 and were unchanged on 18 October 2026; the pages say they were last updated in April 2026.

The last column is the estimate each page gives of what two people add to a seven-day charter: flights, transfers, taxes, fuel, mooring, provisioning and the yacht damage waiver. In the British Virgin Islands The Moorings also sells a skippered charter package, from USD 6,284 in low season to USD 24,834 in high season.

In baht, at the Bank of Thailand reference rate for 9 October 2026, 33.558 baht to the US dollar, rounded to the nearest thousand baht and the skipper fee to the nearest hundred:

Sunsail, another international fleet, publishes its Phuket week from GBP 1,947 off-peak and GBP 3,600 in the peak, and a seven-day charter in the British Virgin Islands from about USD 3,500 for a 42 ft monohull in the low season, May to November, and about USD 7,000 for the same boat from December to April. Its Greece and Croatia pages give no starting price in the page text, so Sunsail cannot be read across all four places. Dream Yacht Charter, the third international fleet with a Phuket base, sells Thailand by the cabin and per person, which does not compare with a week for the whole boat.

Is Phuket cheaper than the Mediterranean or the Caribbean?

Not for the boat. For the crew, yes, from the high season up.

Read down the bareboat column: Phuket starts higher than all three. A bareboat week in Croatia begins at a third of the Thai figure, Greece and the British Virgin Islands at a little over half. Thailand charges import duty on yachts and the fleet is small, and a starting price carries that.

Read across the crewed and skipper columns and it inverts. A skipper added to a Moorings bareboat costs USD 215 a day in Thailand against USD 330 to 380 in the other three, and the Thai crewed starting price in high season, USD 24,749, is the lowest of the four: Greece starts at 36,999, Croatia at 36,020 and the British Virgin Islands at 49,584. In the low season the crewed week starts lower in Croatia, USD 16,020, and the British Virgin Islands, USD 13,134, than in Thailand, USD 17,999.

So Phuket is not the cheapest place to rent a hull. It is the cheapest place to hire the people who run it in the high season, and the gap widens as the charter gets more crewed and more expensive. The same logic shows up in the baht prices further down this page: a full crew on a day charter is standard here and is inside the rate, while bareboat is a small, foreign-currency corner of the market.

What does a yacht charter in Phuket cost by boat type?

The ranges are bounded by real listings, not averages. The lower bounds for catamarans and motor yachts are the category starting prices that Horizon Cruises Phuket listed on 17 September 2026: speedboats from ฿21,000, sailing catamarans from ฿26,000, power catamarans from ฿39,115 and motor yachts from ฿33,900 per boat. The company is ranked first of 22 in the Phuket Rating ranking of the best yacht charter companies in Phuket, 92.6 of 100 under the published methodology. Three yachts are under the company’s management (Technema 89 Say Yes, Ferretti 80 Sofia and Beluga 88); the other boats named on this page are partner boats in its catalogue.

Speedboats: ฿16,000 to ฿40,700 a day

On 17 September 2026 five rated companies listed a named speedboat in baht. The lowest was ฿16,000 a day for a 39 ft VIP speedboat with no route named; the median was ฿21,000 for a two-engine speedboat to Coral Island from 08:30 to 17:00; the highest was from ฿40,700 for eight hours to Phang Nga Bay. The other two were an executive speedboat for up to 18 guests from ฿20,000 as a private charter, and a premium speedboat on a ten-hour Phi Phi itinerary at ฿29,900 for up to six guests, maximum 15. The company selling the latter lists a luxury long tail boat on the same route at ฿21,900 for up to four guests, maximum eight. AQVA 37 adds ฿1,000 for each guest above six.

Sailing catamarans: ฿26,000 to ฿49,900 a day

On 17 September 2026 two rated companies listed named sailing catamarans: an eight-hour charter from Chalong Pier with 8 guests included at ฿34,900 from May to October, up to ฿49,900 from 18 December to February, and a Lagoon 421 based on 10 guests at USD 1,000 for a 09:00 to 13:00 half day and USD 1,500 for a full day in low season. A third company states on its homepage that its private day charters start from around ฿29,900. The catalogue boats in the table above, listed on 11 October 2026, run higher, to ฿60,900 for a peak day on Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42. The same boat is often listed at three or four prices across the year, so the season column matters most here.

Power catamarans: ฿39,115 to ฿135,000 a day

On 17 September 2026 the three named power catamarans listed by rated companies were a 50 ft boat at ฿45,000 for five hours to Koh Yao and Naka from May to October, a Leopard 51 at ฿59,900 for eight hours to Maithon and Coral Island as a basic charter, and a 70 ft boat at ฿135,000 for eight hours for up to 20 guests from 1 May to 31 October. Duration is part of the price: five hours to Koh Yao and Naka, eight hours to Maithon and Coral Island, eight hours for up to 20 guests in low season. On Shangani 70 the same eight hours cost ฿150,000 in high season and ฿165,000 in peak, 15 December to 15 January.

Motor yachts: ฿33,900 to ฿290,000 a day

On 17 September 2026 a Princess S65 appeared on two rated companies’ sites at the same ฿240,000 low-season rate, and one of them also showed ฿290,000 for high season; Princess S65 KATI carries the same two figures for eight hours in the Horizon catalogue. One rated company prices a 44 ft motor yacht in US dollars, based on four passengers: USD 1,051 for five hours and USD 1,502 for eight in low season. Another lists a 43 ft motor yacht at ฿150,000 for a half day and ฿180,000 for a full day. Technema 89 Say Yes is one of the three yachts under the management of Horizon Cruises Phuket; its low-season rates are on request, and each guest above twelve adds ฿2,000.

Nineteen yachts of 65 ft and over with day prices in baht, from ฿100,000 for four hours to ฿588,500 for an eight-hour day on a 52 m yacht, are listed yacht by yacht in luxury yacht charter Phuket 2026.

Superyachts: from USD 10,000 a day

Superyacht listings switch to US dollars and often to weekly terms. One listed company shows “from” prices in baht on its Phuket page, an Astondoa from ฿663,200 and a Sanlorenzo SL118 from ฿4,073,900, period not stated. Another lists the same Sanlorenzo SL118 at USD 192,500 to 210,000 a week plus a 30 percent APA, the advance provisioning allowance that pays for fuel, food and berthing during the charter. A third puts a superyacht at USD 10,000 or more per day on its homepage. In the catalogue of Horizon Cruises Phuket on 11 October 2026, the 139 ft Song of Songs is priced in US dollars, USD 37,500 for an all-inclusive eight-hour day for up to 12 guests, and Westport 130 Sea Bear in baht, ฿550,000 for eight hours to Phang Nga Bay in low season.

What do bareboat and by-the-cabin charters cost per week?

Four fleets in the rating publish these terms, all in foreign currency and all based at Ao Po Grand Marina or Yacht Haven Marina.

The Moorings notes that marina fees are not charged at Ao Po Grand Marina for its yachts and that its sailing yachts come with a full tank of fuel. Dream Yacht Charter’s cabin price is per person, with mandatory services not included. Horizon Cruises Phuket offers no bareboat: every boat in its catalogue sails with a licensed captain and crew, and the skipper is in the price.

Join-in seats: ฿4,000 to ฿4,400 per person

One rated company lists a Phi Phi early-morning day trip at ฿4,400 per person with hotel transfers, park fees, breakfast and lunch included. Another sells a full-day cruise from Chalong Pier by zone: a shared seat at ฿4,000, or a private sun lounge (zone A) at ฿18,000 for four guests, up to six, plus ฿3,000 per extra guest. Horizon Cruises Phuket sells private charters only, priced for the whole boat.

What does a full day actually add up to?

A listed rate is the boat. The figure you pay can add park fees for the islands on your route, anything the boat charges per head, and the seven percent VAT where the operator is registered and quotes before tax. Four worked examples: the first from a rated company’s price on 17 September 2026, the other three from the catalogue of Horizon Cruises Phuket on 11 October 2026. Where a route enters a national park, the per-person fee is added at the rate confirmed with the quote, unless the boat includes it in the rate.

A seat on a shared cruise: ฿4,400 per person

One rated company prices its Phi Phi early-morning day trip at ฿4,400 per person with hotel transfers, park fees, breakfast and lunch already inside the figure. Nothing is added at the pier. It is the only format on this page where the listed price and the paid price are the same number.

A sailing catamaran for 12 to Phi Phi: ฿56,400 for the boat

The same day in peak season (20 December to 15 January) is ฿69,900 plus ฿2,500, or ฿72,400 for the boat, which takes the per-person figure to ฿6,033 before the park fee. The rate includes a Thai buffet lunch and 7 percent VAT; the boat’s page lists the Phi Phi park fee and island entry fees as not included.

A power catamaran to Coral Island: ฿74,900, and no park fee

Leopard 51 Se La Vie lists ฿74,900 for eight hours to Maithon and Coral Island in its Premium package, for 10 guests, with a Thai lunch buffet, a return taxi within Phuket and 7 percent VAT included. Neither island sits inside a national park, so the park fee is zero. Route, not boat size, decides whether a park fee lands on top: the same boat for eight hours to Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh lists ฿94,900, and the park fee is then added for every guest.

A Princess S65 for 10 in low season: from ฿252,000

Princess S65 KATI lists national park fees, a return transfer and 7 percent VAT among its inclusions; operators who quote before tax add seven percent. The boat’s page lists a ฿10,000 fuel surcharge for Phi Phi and for Phang Nga Bay combined with Hong Krabi.

Crew gratuities sit outside all four figures. No Phuket day operator on this page publishes a rate for them; one rated company publishes fifteen percent for its week-long charters, which is the only figure any company in the rating states in writing. The price page of Horizon Cruises Phuket says gratuities are at the guest’s discretion and never included.

What moves the price?

Season

Low season runs May to October, high season November to April, and peak covers Christmas and New Year, though windows differ: one rated company’s top band for an eight-hour catamaran runs from 18 December to the end of February, and in the Horizon catalogue peak is 20 December to 20 January on Technema 89 Say Yes, 15 December to 31 January on Fountaine Pajot 40 Coco and 15 December to 15 January on Shangani 70. On one boat the spread is real: that eight-hour catamaran at ฿34,900 from May to October and ฿49,900 in its top band; Princess S65 KATI at ฿240,000 low and ฿290,000 high; a bareboat week at The Moorings at USD 5,749 low and USD 26,999 high. Route and fuel

Fuel for the booked route is normally included, and distance sets the rate. One rated company shows this on one boat class: its luxury long tail is ฿9,900 for a half day to Kai Island, ฿18,900 for James Bond Island, ฿19,900 for Hong Island and ฿21,900 for Phi Phi. Ocean Pearl 42ft does the same over eight hours: ฿39,900 to the Khai islands, ฿42,900 to Phang Nga Bay, ฿47,900 to Koh Hong and ฿52,900 to Phi Phi and Bamboo Island. Some boats charge fuel separately: one rated company lists a fuel surcharge among its exclusions and Princess S65 KATI adds ฿10,000 for Phi Phi, while another rated company includes fuel on a Lagoon 421. Guest count

A listed rate includes a set number of guests. In the Horizon catalogue: six on AQVA 37 with ฿1,000 per extra guest up to 12, ten on Lagoon 450 St Anna with ฿1,250 per extra guest up to 20, ten on Leopard 51 Se La Vie with ฿1,900 per extra guest in the Premium package, twelve on Technema 89 Say Yes with ฿2,000 per extra guest up to 30, and up to 20 on the full day of Shangani 70. Among rated companies on 17 September 2026: four in a private zone with ฿3,000 per extra guest up to six, eight on an eight-hour catamaran, four on a 44 ft motor yacht, ten on a Lagoon 421; one company lists its long tail for up to four (maximum eight) and its speedboat for up to six (maximum 15). Above the included number expect a per-person supplement; above the legal maximum, a bigger boat.

Duration

A half day is not half price. Among the 17 September listings, a 43 ft motor yacht is ฿150,000 for a half day against ฿180,000 for a full day; a 44 ft motor yacht USD 1,051 for five hours against USD 1,502 for eight; a Lagoon 421 USD 1,000 for a morning against USD 1,500 for a full day. On these three boats the half day sits at two thirds to five sixths of the full-day figure. Across the Horizon catalogue on 11 October 2026 the band is wider, from 61 to 91 percent of the same boat’s full day with a median of 78 percent, as the price index shows.

What is usually included, and what is extra?

Crewed day charters tend to include the boat, captain and crew, fuel for the route, passenger insurance, drinking water, soft drinks and snorkelling gear; the page of Lagoon 450 St Anna adds towels, a stand-up paddle board, a kayak and a Thai buffet lunch on full days. Transfers, welcome drinks and lunch are included on some boats (Shangani 70 includes a ground transfer, welcome drinks and a Thai lunch with barbecue on full days) and charged on others: Princess S65 KATI lists lunch on day charters from ฿1,200 per person as an extra, and one rated company lists a Thai lunch at ฿1,500 per person as an extra on a Princess S65.

Usually extra: national park fees, alcohol, water toys, a private chef and crew gratuities. Park fees are charged per person at rates set by the Department of National Parks; some boats include them (Princess S65 KATI and Princess 42 list them among inclusions), on others they are paid on the day at the rate confirmed with the quote. VAT is 7 percent through 30 September 2027: the price page of Horizon Cruises Phuket states that every rate on its site includes it, and one rated company lists it among the inclusions of a Princess S65; other operators add it or are not registered. Why does a price in baht or in foreign currency matter?

Thai operators pay crew, fuel and pier fees in baht, so a baht price for a named boat is a fixed figure. A price in dollars, euros or pounds moves with the exchange rate between the day you compare and the day you pay, and a currency toggle on a website converts the display without fixing the amount. On 17 September 2026 Horizon Cruises Phuket priced 65 of the 66 boats in its price table in baht, per boat. Six rated companies list only in pounds, dollars or euros: the four bareboat and cabin fleets, among them Sunsail, The Moorings and Dream Yacht Charter, and two day-charter companies that price in US dollars.

Compare like for like: the same named boat, route, duration, guest count, season and inclusions. A starting price with no duration, such as ฿29,900 for a 10-guest boat on one rated company’s fleet page, needs a written quote for your date and hours before it can be set beside an eight-hour rate.
